Community Highlights: Meet Hana Gabriel of Tustin Family Dentist, Dr. Hana Gabriel Dental Office

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hana Gabriel.

Hi Hana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started when I was a child, I grew up in a family where all females were Doctors and males’ engineers but Zero dentists. When I was asked what do you want to be when you grow up, my answer came fast: go to dental school and then do more dental studies in different countries.
I Always felt I wasn’t the kind of person who would sit on a chair for eight hours a day, I want to communicate with people, to connect and to create. Dentistry always felt like the perfect place where knowledge and science blend beautifully with art.
Growing up in a mission school, where service was at the center of everything we did, I found that dentistry was also the place where my passion for serving others could grow and be used to make a difference.

I studied Dentistry at Ain Shams University in Egypt, and completed a General Practice Residency afterwards. I worked in community hospitals and private clinics, gaining experience and learning from every patient and colleague I met.
When I moved to the United States, I honed my skills by joining the international dentist program at western University of Health Sciences, where I graduated first in my class with honors. During those years, I published my first article and received awards in oral pathology, which made me even more confident in my path.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
But then the road became a little rough, finding the right place to practice was hard. It’s so easy to find a job, but it’s not easy to find a place where the philosophy and work ethics align with yours. I went to countless interviews, worked in many offices and yet, I never felt completely satisfied or happy
There were times when I thought about giving up, I questioning if this was really what I wanted to do. But I had responsibilities, and I couldn’t stop. I had to keep going for my family and for myself.
Then came a little light, a mentor, someone who listened, understood and validated my struggles. I Can’t speak enough about how important mentorship has been in my life, in every aspect. Having someone to guide you, light the way, and remind you that you’re not alone is invaluable.
That experience inspired me to get more involved in organized dentistry. I started connecting with other dentists, sharing experiences, and realizing that I wasn’t the only one facing these challenges. Serving my community and fellow dentists has been a wonderful journey. I discovered that I have a voice — and that I need to use it to make even small improvements in our field.
Today, I am proud to be an active member of the Orange County Dental Society (delegate), the California Dental Association (member of the Governmental Affairs Council), and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
My Christian faith has helped me through every challenge. One of my favorite verses is:
“God is within her; she will not fall.” (Psalm 46:5)
This verse has carried me through the hard days and reminded me that God’s strength is within me.
I’m also deeply grateful for the support of my husband — he has always believed in me and my skills, and has helped me in every possible way. His encouragement and faith in me made me reach where I am today.
And knowing how proud my parents are of me keeps me going every single day. Their belief in me, even from miles away, reminds me why I started this journey and pushes me to keep striving for more.

We’ve been impressed with Tustin Family Dentist, Dr. Hana Gabriel Dental Office, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
And then came Tustin family dentist
I was blessed to take over Dr. Henry’s office, the president of the Orange County Dental Society, and care for his wonderful patients. It was a full-circle moment, combining everything I had worked and prayed for.
I am very drawn to cosmetic dentistry, because I see the change it brings to people’s lives when their smiles finally reflect their inner beauty.
As my slogan says, Tustin Family Dentist is about “more than dentistry, compassionate care that transforms smiles.” I’ll continue to develop my skills, serve my patients, and give back to my community because every smile I create is a reflection of hope, art, and faith.
