Hi Gerardo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Why I Became a Coach and Keynote Speaker

For most of my career, I was chasing numbers — production goals, awards, recognition. I was good at it, but somewhere along the way I realized the real fulfillment didn’t come from the sale… it came from seeing someone else win. From watching a new advisor finally believe in themselves. From helping a person discover what they were truly capable of.

After nearly 30 years in the sales and financial industry, I decided to take everything I’d learned — the victories, the mistakes, the grind, and the mindset that carried me through it all — and pour it into others. Coaching became my calling. Speaking became my way to reach more people who needed to hear that same truth: you are capable of more than you think.

I became a coach and keynote speaker because I believe in the power of transformation — not just in business, but in life. I’ve seen what happens when someone shifts from doubt to belief, from fear to conviction. That’s what drives me every single day — helping people find their “EYE CAN” moment, where their purpose meets their potential.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey wasn’t built on overnight success — it was built on struggle, pressure, and perseverance. For years, I lived by the numbers. I chased sales goals, awards, and recognition, thinking that was the definition of success. And while I reached many of those milestones, there were nights I lay awake wondering why I still felt unfulfilled.

When I left the safety of corporate life to build my own coaching and speaking business, I faced fear head-on. There were moments when doubt was louder than belief, when I questioned if I’d made the right choice. I faced personal loss, family challenges, and the kind of loneliness that comes when you’re chasing a dream no one else can see.

But in those moments — when I was forced to rebuild, re-focus, and remember why I started — something changed. I realized my greatest purpose wasn’t just in selling products or hitting quotas. It was in helping people find what I call their EYE CAN moment — that instant when they realize they’re capable of more than they ever believed.

That’s why I became a coach and keynote speaker. Because I’ve lived the grind. I’ve walked through the fire. And now, my mission is to help others rise from theirs — stronger, clearer, and unstoppable.

EYE CAN Coaching was born from a simple truth — most people don’t need more motivation, they need transformation. After nearly 30 years in sales and leadership, I founded EYE CAN to help financial advisors, insurance agents, and business professionals master the mindset and methods that create real, lasting success.

We specialize in unconditional sales training — teaching professionals how to sell with purpose, not pressure. It’s not about scripts or closing tricks; it’s about learning how to think differently, connect authentically, and serve intentionally. Through coaching, workshops, and keynote speaking, I help individuals and teams gain more referrals, close more sales, and rediscover the passion that first brought them into this business.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
My View on Risk-Taking

I’ve learned that growth never happens in your comfort zone — and neither does fulfillment. Every major turning point in my life has involved a risk: leaving stability, facing uncertainty, betting on belief instead of guarantees.

One of the biggest risks I ever took was walking away from a successful, 25-year career in sales and leadership to start EYE CAN Coaching & Speaking. I had a great reputation, consistent income, and a defined path. But something in me knew I was being called to do more — to share what I’d learned and help others find the same confidence and conviction that had carried me through my own struggles.

Starting from scratch wasn’t easy. There were months of doubt, sleepless nights, and plenty of moments where I questioned whether I’d made the right move. But looking back, that leap of faith forced me to grow in ways I never could have otherwise.

To me, risk isn’t about recklessness — it’s about courage. It’s about trusting your purpose more than your fear. Every time I’ve taken a risk guided by conviction, not ego, it’s opened doors I couldn’t have seen before.

So yes, I see myself as a risk-taker — but more importantly, as a belief-taker. Because when you truly believe in your vision, the risk stops being something to fear… and becomes the path to freedom.
