Community Highlights: Meet Eileen Gonzalez of Haute Skin & Beauty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eileen Gonzalez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up I always dreamed about being in the beauty industry and wanted to go to beauty school but to appease the people around me I felt like I had to go to a 4 year college. So I did that, I was unhappy but I did it! However the following year after I graduated, Covid hit and I realized life was too short and I never wanted to reach the end of my life and ask myself “what if” so I enrolled in esthetician school during peak covid and I absolutely thrived! Along my esthetician journey I’ve met so many people and learned so much about myself. I have a suite at Phenix Salon Suites which was one of my goals when I first got licensed and I have so many amazing clients. I don’t view my work as a job, but as a place where people can come relax and feel beautiful afterwards.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running a business is hard work! Definitely not easy, I’ve had so many people tell me “Eileen you make it look so easy” well from the outside that’s definitely how it looks especially on social media. We tend to only showcase the bright side of business, but running a business is working 24/7. You’re always thinking about your business or how to make it better, posting and being consistent on social media, inventory, always being open to learning, and communicating with your clients. However none of this would’ve been possible without the people who stood by me. My husband who encouraged me to keep going, my family who let me practice on them, my day one clients who saw potential in me and stayed with me, and referrals from those clients. When I first started my solo esthetician journey I saw this quote that said “your tribe will find you” and it just stayed with me and I can attest that that’s spot on. My clients are the most amazing and supportive people I have ever met, I have the most gratitude for them because without them I would have no business.

As you know, we’re big fans of Haute Skin & Beauty. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Here at Haute Skin & Beauty, I specialize in custom facials and lash extensions tailored to each client. With a focus on results, relaxation, and real connection. Every service is infused with intention, care, and good energy.

Think of Haute Skin & Beauty as your emotional support estie with a glow-getter’s touch. Real results, real care, real connection.

It’s more than beauty-it’s a vibe.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about our city is the sense of community. There’s a special kind of support here — people want to see small businesses win, and that energy fuels everything I do. Plus, there’s so many creative and ambitious people who inspire me daily.

What I like least? Honestly… the traffic. And sometimes it feels like beauty and wellness are treated like surface-level luxuries, when really, they’re essential to how we care for ourselves. I’d love to see more space made for intentional self-care in everyday life. Self care is the BEST care.
