Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Ryan C. Warner.
Hi Dr. Ryan C., please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
From a young age, I was curious about how people heal, grow, and reach their full potential. That curiosity led me to study psychology and eventually earn a PhD in Counseling Psychology. After completing my training at Marquette University and beginning my early clinical work, I served in the U.S. Air Force, where I gained a deeper understanding of leadership, resilience, and the systems that shape human performance and recovery. Those experiences taught me how to see problems from multiple angles and design solutions that create real impact.
Over the years, through my work in clinical, research, and organizational settings, one truth became clear to me: organizations perform best when people feel seen, supported, and psychologically safe. That realization inspired me to launch RC Warner Consulting in 2020. I wanted to build a practice that helps leaders, teams, and systems create inclusive cultures, promote mental wellness, and turn evidence-based behavioral science into practical, measurable change.
Fast forward to today — we’ve grown into a diverse team of more than 14 professionals and have trained over 15,000 individuals across six continents. Our work has reached leading organizations such as the United Nations, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Fortune 500 companies that share our commitment to advancing inclusion and well-being.
In the beginning, much of my work focused on workshops and keynotes that translated research on microaggressions, trauma, and workplace wellbeing into actionable tools leaders could use right away. Over time, that focus on practical, human-centered solutions — along with strong partnerships and national visibility — led to larger projects with public health agencies, government partners, and corporate clients. Today, my team and I support organizations through executive coaching, organizational strategy, and trauma-informed, equity-centered initiatives.
What continues to motivate me is seeing people and organizations move beyond good intentions to lasting transformation — when culture shifts, leaders grow, and people feel a genuine sense of belonging and safety at work. RC Warner Consulting was founded to meet organizations where they are, apply an equity lens to every engagement, and help them build the internal capacity to thrive long after any single training ends.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — and honestly, I wouldn’t expect it to be. One of the biggest challenges has been bringing on the right team members who truly align with our mission and values as we continue to grow.
When your work centers on inclusion, psychological safety, and well-being, alignment isn’t just about skill or experience — it’s about mindset and heart. The people we bring in have to live the principles we teach: empathy, curiosity, cultural humility, and integrity. That can be hard to find, especially in a fast-growing organization where the demand for services is high and the pace is quick.
We’ve learned that scaling intentionally matters more than scaling fast. It takes time to identify professionals who not only bring technical expertise but also share a genuine commitment to equity and healing-centered work. That process can slow things down at times, but it’s essential for preserving the authenticity and impact of what we do. Every person on our team plays a role in shaping how organizations experience us — so getting that right is worth the extra effort.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about RC Warner Consulting?
RC Warner Consulting is a leadership and organizational development firm dedicated to helping people and systems thrive. We specialize in fostering inclusive cultures, promoting mental wellness, and unlocking human potential within high-performing organizations. Our work bridges behavioral science and practical strategy — translating research on psychological safety, trauma-informed care, and equity into actionable tools leaders can use to create lasting change.
We’re best known for creating transformative learning experiences that go far beyond traditional training. Our programs are interactive, evidence-based, and grounded in real-world impact. We’ve had the privilege of training over 15,000 professionals across six continents and partnering with top organizations such as the United Nations, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Fortune 500 companies.
What truly sets us apart is our team — a diverse group of clinicians, public health professionals, and organizational psychologists of color who bring both lived experience and deep professional expertise to every engagement. We don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions; we listen, co-create, and tailor every program to the culture and needs of the organizations we serve.
Brand-wise, what makes me most proud is that we’re not just helping organizations meet diversity or wellness goals — we’re helping them build environments where people genuinely feel valued, supported, and able to bring their full selves to work. Our brand stands for transformation with integrity — grounded in science, powered by empathy, and sustained through action.
At our core, RC Warner Consulting exists to help leaders and teams not only perform better but be better — creating workplaces that inspire trust, belonging, and lasting impact.
Any big plans?
The future for RC Warner Consulting is all about intentional growth and deeper impact. We’re continuing to scale our work while expanding partnerships with local, state, and federal government entities to strengthen organizational well-being and equity-centered leadership across sectors.
As demand for trauma-informed and inclusive systems continues to rise, we’re building out our team to meet that need — bringing on professionals who share our commitment to evidence-based practice, cultural responsiveness, and sustainable change. We’re also investing in technology and innovative learning platforms to make our training experiences more accessible and impactful for organizations of all sizes.
Ultimately, our goal is to help shape the next generation of leaders and systems — ones that prioritize psychological safety, inclusion, and human-centered performance. The growth ahead isn’t just about scale; it’s about expanding our reach while staying true to the values that have guided us from the start.
