Community Highlights: Meet Delma Castaneda of The Empowered Outlier LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Delma Castaneda

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey to becoming a post-divorce and co-parenting coach is deeply personal. I’m a first-generation Salvadoran and a proud mom of two. For years, I navigated the complex, emotionally charged realities of leaving a toxic marriage and raising children in a high-conflict co-parenting arrangement. As I struggled to rebuild my life, I often felt depleted, frustrated, and isolated, questioning my worth and ability to move forward.

But these challenges became the foundation of my purpose. I realized there was a significant gap in the support available to women like me—single moms who carry the weight of healing from emotional abuse while trying to parent, work full-time, and reclaim their lives. I saw an opportunity to provide the guidance I desperately needed in my own life: someone to walk alongside me, offering tools for emotional regulation, clarity in decision-making, and a reminder of my own power.

Through training, certification as an empowerment coach, and my lived experiences, I’ve built a business centered on helping other women pick up the pieces after divorce. I specialize in guiding them to overcome fear and trauma, communicate effectively with their high-conflict ex-partners, and build loving, secure connections with their children.

It hasn’t been an easy road, but the work I do is incredibly rewarding. I love watching my clients transform—reclaiming their confidence, creating healthier co-parenting dynamics, and, most importantly, finding joy and strength in their new chapters. I truly believe that while we can’t control everything that happens to us, we can take empowered action to create a better future for ourselves and our children.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road—far from it. My journey has been filled with challenges, both personal and professional. Leaving a toxic marriage was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, especially as a mother. I had to navigate the emotional and mental toll of breaking free from an abusive relationship while simultaneously ensuring my children felt loved and secure. Co-parenting with a high-conflict ex added layers of complexity, requiring constant emotional regulation and strategic decision-making to shield my children from unnecessary conflict.

Financial struggles were another hurdle. As a single mom and entrepreneur, I’ve faced periods of uncertainty, wondering if I could meet my family’s needs while building a business that felt meaningful and impactful. Juggling work, parenting, and my own healing wasn’t just a balancing act—it was a battle to reclaim my sense of self-worth and stability.

There were moments of self-doubt, especially early on, when I wondered if anyone would value what I had to offer as a coach. I also had to confront the societal stigma around divorce and single motherhood, which can make you feel like you’ve failed in some way.

Despite these struggles, I’ve learned that every obstacle is an opportunity for growth. These challenges shaped my perspective and gave me the tools I now use to help my clients. My experiences allow me to connect deeply with the women I support, showing them that they, too, can overcome adversity and create a life filled with peace, purpose, and joy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is all about empowering single mothers to reclaim their confidence and navigate life after divorce. As a certified empowerment coach, I specialize in helping moms overcome the emotional aftermath of leaving toxic, high-conflict relationships. My work focuses on emotional regulation, effective communication with difficult ex-partners, and helping women reconnect with their self-worth while fostering strong, secure relationships with their children.

What sets my coaching apart is the deeply personal and customized support I provide. I’m not just a coach—I’m someone who has walked this path myself. I understand the fear, guilt, and exhaustion that come with co-parenting alongside a high-conflict ex, as well as the unique challenges of starting over while managing a full-time job and raising children. My clients often say they feel seen, understood, and supported in a way they never have before.

One of the things I’m most proud of is how my coaching helps women not just survive but thrive. I teach them to shift their mindset, regulate their emotions, and create healthy boundaries so they can feel empowered to live life on their own terms. I also equip them with tools to guide their children toward emotional resilience, protecting them from the toxic dynamics of a high-conflict parent.

Brand-wise, I’m incredibly proud of the safe, nurturing space I’ve created for my clients. Whether through one-on-one coaching, group programs, or workshops, my goal is to provide practical tools and emotional support that inspire lasting change. I also offer sliding-scale fees and accessible group coaching options to ensure that more moms can benefit from this work, regardless of their financial situation.

What I want readers to know is that you don’t have to face these challenges alone. With the right support and guidance, you can find peace, build stronger relationships with your children, and rediscover the powerful, resilient woman you’ve always been.

What’s next?
I’m incredibly excited about the future and the opportunities to expand my impact. One of my big plans for the coming year is launching a monthly workshop series focused on empowering women through the post-divorce and co-parenting journey. These workshops will be interactive and practical, offering tools to help moms build emotional resilience, improve communication with high-conflict ex-partners, and prioritize self-care. I want to create a community where women feel supported and inspired to take control of their lives.

I’m also looking to grow my group coaching programs, making them more accessible to moms who may not have the resources for private coaching. These programs are designed to foster connection and peer support while providing actionable strategies to handle the unique challenges of co-parenting and healing after divorce.

Another exciting development is my plan to increase my presence as a speaker and advocate for single moms navigating divorce and co-parenting. I want to use my voice and experiences to shed light on the emotional toll of toxic relationships and provide hope to those who feel stuck.

On a personal level, I’m working toward creating more balance in my own life. As a single mom and entrepreneur, I know how easy it is to put your own needs last, but I’m committed to showing my kids—and my clients—that self-care is non-negotiable.

Ultimately, my vision is to help more women recognize their worth, rebuild their lives, and create a future filled with peace and purpose. Big changes are always on the horizon, and I’m looking forward to continuing this work with an open heart and a commitment to making a difference.
