Community Highlights: Meet Cyrene Dellinger of Cyrene Properties

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cyrene Dellinger

Cyrene, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my journey in Real Estate in 2015, after being laid off from my job as a CFO for a healthcare auditing firm. I was trying to sell my house and was in escrow when I lost my job. Fortunately, I had a contingency, so I was able to keep the house since I didn’t know where I was going to end up. The realtor I was working with suggested giving real estate a try, and initially, I hesitated at the idea. I was a finance person; I liked my spreadsheets, so I wasn’t sure if this job was the right fit for me. My realtor told me that I had nothing to lose, so I decided to get my license. I hit the ground running and soon became the number one agent at my first brokerage, and I still am at the office I’m at today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey in real estate hasn’t been a smooth road. From the very beginning, I struggled with brand recognition and finding clients willing to work with a newer agent. I often found myself pretending I wasn’t new, navigating contracts, and trying to establish my credibility in a competitive market. It was a challenging time, but I was determined to persevere. As my business began to grow, new challenges emerged. One of the most significant hurdles was finding the right staff to help expand my operations. It was essential to add the right agents to my team, ensuring they shared my vision and commitment to excellence. Additionally, I focused on streamlining systems and processes to transform our operation into an efficiently run machine. Through hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn from my experiences, I have built a successful business. While the journey has had its ups and downs, each challenge has contributed to my growth and has shaped the leader I am today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As a team leader and productivity coach at Keller Williams Encino Sherman Oaks, I have the privilege of running the coaching program for newer agents in our office. My focus is on taking these agents under my wing and mentoring them through their first three deals, providing them with the support and guidance they need to succeed. Every Tuesday, I hold classes where we come together to discuss key points of the business, share insights, and motivate one another to take action. It’s rewarding to watch these new agents grow and gain confidence as they navigate their early experiences in real estate. I also have my own dedicated real estate team that I mentor. I also work with my own clientele of buyers, sellers and investors.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is when my grandpa would create carnivals for us in his backyard. He would transform the space into a magical wonderland filled with makeshift carnival games, laughter, and excitement. He crafted each game with care, using whatever materials he could find around the house. My grandpa’s creativity and dedication turned an ordinary backyard into a place of joy and cherished memories that I hold dear to this day.
