Today we’d like to introduce you to Breezy Church.
Hi Breezy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Seattle, WA and have worked in coffee my whole life. I moved to Long Beach, CA in 2011 and worked in a few shops locally which is how I met my now husband and business partner. While dating, we would go out on ‘coffee crawls’ trying new shops from LA to Orange County, and go home once we got too “Coffee Drunk”. Fast forward a few years and two kids later and he and I decided to open our own business here in the city we met in. The business name was an obvious choice for us, and CoffeeDrunk opened in December 2020.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a new business in the middle of a pandemic was never the plan. We were in the middle of our build-out when the lockdown started. We’ve been very fortunate to have an amazing team of employees who have helped us overcome those challenges. We pushed through and thanks to the amazing support from the local community, we came out on the other end and are continuing to grow.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about CoffeeDrunk?
CoffeeDrunk has become well known for our original recipe drinks. Our most popular drink is the Instigator; espresso shaken with maple, brown sugar and a touch of milk of your choice. We are excited to get the chance to serve even more of them at our second location, opening this Spring in the Cal Heights neighborhood of Long Beach.
