Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben Molhant.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a strong interest in personal finance and investing, and over time, that turned into a passion for helping people feel confident about their financial lives. My professional career has been in higher education, where I worked in roles ranging from executive support to project management and IT solutions. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for organization, structure, and clear systems, and I saw firsthand how much stress operational details can create when things aren’t streamlined.
I became increasingly drawn to the idea of helping small business owners, freelancers, and entrepreneurs with the part of business that often feels overwhelming: their financial records. I pursued formal bookkeeping training and earned my QuickBooks ProAdvisor credentials, and launched NetMore Bookkeeping to provide financial clarity and support in a warm, approachable way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a business is rarely a smooth or linear road. But those challenges have been incredibly valuable. They’ve taught me patience, focus, and the importance of laying a solid foundation rather than rushing. Every step has reinforced my belief that clarity and consistency matter just as much as expertise when you’re supporting small business owners with something as important as their finances.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
NetMore Bookkeeping specializes in supporting small business owners and freelancers with clean, accurate books and financial clarity. I offer modern, tailored bookkeeping services that include monthly financial upkeep, QuickBooks Online setup and organization, and ongoing support to help clients understand their numbers rather than feel overwhelmed by them.
I’m a QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor, and my background in project management and IT means I naturally approach bookkeeping through the lens of systems, efficiency, and transparency. I completed bookkeeping training and earned my QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification, which has shaped my systems-focused and collaborative approach to supporting small business owners and freelancers.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned that entrepreneurship isn’t about having everything figured out on day one; it’s about starting, iterating, and staying committed to serving people well. And whether you’re working in higher education or working with freelancers and entrepreneurs, clarity around numbers and operations is essential for good decision-making.
One of the most rewarding lessons has been seeing how transformational financial understanding can be. When small business owners have clean books and insight into their numbers, they’re able to plan, strategize, and take action in ways that make them successful financially. That’s ultimately why I started NetMore Bookkeeping: to support financial clarity so that more entrepreneurs can succeed and thrive.
