Today we’d like to introduce you to Anastasiia Moskaliuk.
Hi Anastasiia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My Story from Scratch: A Journey of Strength, Risk, and Reinvention
Just over two years ago, my family and I were forced to leave everything we had built in Ukraine – our home, our business, and our entire way of life – as the war turned everything upside down in a single day. We arrived in the United States with no support system, no friends or relatives, and the overwhelming responsibility of starting from scratch with three children.
In Ukraine, I had many years of experience in the nail industry, a loyal client base, two studios, and a strong team of professionals. I had to leave it all behind – but giving up was never an option. We had to act fast, work hard, take responsibility, and keep moving forward – for our children and for our future.
Today, I proudly run my own nail studio in Beverly Hills, where I teach advanced nail artistry and help students reach the highest professional standards. I became an international nail competition champion, winning first-place awards in multiple categories among some of the best nail artists from around the world. I also successfully launched my own brand of professional nail products, which continues to grow rapidly – and we are now actively expanding our team.
It hasn’t been easy. But my journey proves that even in the most difficult circumstances, it is possible to start over and succeed – if you’re willing to take the risk, believe in yourself, and never stop moving forward.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We didn’t have a “soft landing” when we arrived. Our path was anything but easy. Like many families who flee their home countries unexpectedly, we faced the harsh realities of immigration -uncertainty, financial strain, language barriers, and the overwhelming task of starting from zero in a new world. On top of that, we had young children who needed stability, love, and a sense of normal life while we ourselves were rebuilding everything from the ground up.
There were moments when it felt impossible – no resources, no network, and no room for mistakes. But we didn’t give up. Step by step, with hard work, sleepless nights, and unshakable determination, we built not only a business, but a new life. Today, looking back, I can say: we turned survival into strength, and challenge into growth.
We’ve been impressed with Gel Point (Brand) ; Nail Point (nail studio in LA and Kyiv ₽, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At the core of everything I do is my deep passion for nail artistry. I’m an international-level nail specialist known for creating high-end, intricate designs and art-driven manicures that truly set trends. I’ve spent years perfecting my craft and am often referred to as one of the top nail artists in the industry – both for my technical skills and artistic vision.
Building on that reputation, I launched Gel Point – a professional nail product brand that reflects the quality and performance standards trusted by European-level professionals. Our goal is to bring that same excellence and innovation to the U.S. market.
Alongside the product line, I run Nail Point, our nail studio in Beverly Hills, where we not only serve clients but also raise the standard of nail services in Los Angeles by combining technique, aesthetics, and education. Our mission is to elevate the industry – both in how nails are done and what products professionals use to achieve outstanding results.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
To be honest, I never had a traditional mentor. My journey has been all about learning on my own – through experience, mistakes, and intuition. When you’re building everything from scratch, especially in a new country with no support system, you learn to rely on yourself and become your own guide.
Now, I’ve become a mentor myself – for my students, my team, and nail artists who are just starting their path. And honestly, this has become one of the most meaningful and inspiring parts of my work.
