Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Egeberg.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Originating from a small North Dakota town where cows outnumbered residents, I certainly couldn’t have predicted my future. Fast forward two decades, and my life took an unexpected trajectory.
I’ve explored 30+ countries, spent nine years living abroad, and ascended the corporate ladder to a coveted C-suite position.
Having reached the “top of the ladder,” I realized the ladder was against the wrong wall. So, I jumped off and started again.
This is where the fun started. I relocated my family to California and designed a life I love and where I can live a life aligned with my values of Fun, Caring, Energy, & Connection. Each day is an opportunity to live to my fullest and lean into these values.
You’ll find me coaching, consulting, volunteering in a grassroots organization I founded to help connect neighbors in need, strength training, pickleball playing, and just hanging out with my daughter & family.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
At the pinnacle of my career, I experienced severe burnout. Various factors contributed to this – a life lacking authenticity, a lack of awareness regarding my values and purpose, years marked by infertility followed by the challenges and joys of becoming a mom, intermittent yet impactful microaggressions, and an unrelenting work ethic that left no room for rest. The perpetual state of being “always on” became unsustainable.
Upon reflection, I recognize that these experiences have significantly shaped my journey. Would I find myself in the same place today without them? Perhaps not. And so, this marks the beginning of a new chapter of my story—a narrative where I can share my insights and assist others in overcoming burnout or steering clear of it altogether.

We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
I’ve taken several risks in my life, I guess. Moved away from home when I was 18 to live on my own – completely self-funded with little to no savings. I moved abroad to Copenhagen, Denmark, to live for 9 years. Quit my multiple six-figure job to start my own business. With each risk, I used my strengths & experience and leaned on others for support –actively seeking out wisdom from others. This helped me succeed. Each time, I learned more about myself and challenged my beliefs. So, I see risk as a positive thing for the most part.
