We recently had the chance to connect with Chelsea Bytes and have shared our conversation below.

Chelsea, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
There’s only one possible use for the first 90 minutes of my day, and that’s BREAKFAST! It literally HAVE to eat in the morning or my whole day goes down the drain. It keeps me high energy and I’ve learned the hard way how necessary that is for me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Sure! I’m Chelsea, aka ChelseaBytes, and I’m a On-Camera Host, Computer Scientist, and Content Creator. I’ve built my content around ALL of my interests, so that means anything and everything Technology, Gaming, Tabletop, Anime, etc. And while I’m definitely a variety creator, I enjoy leaning into tech as much as possible. This means I spend a lot of time building computers live or talking about new technology on stream. Though, if I’m not busy streaming on my own channel, you would probably find me either on stage or hosting remotely for brands like IGN, Amazon, Twitch, and so on.

Outside of my stream or hosting work, I’ve had the pleasure of taking a larger role with various companies and organization. This includes working as an official G2 Esports content creator for over 4 years where I took part in everything from esports casting to brand partner commercials. I also recently served as the Inaugural Twitch Women’s Guild Leader, where I build a large thriving community from scratch with the goal of providing resources to Women creators.

Most recently, I’ve been working on expanding my On-Camera Hosting portfolio! It’s been a fun process of travel and showing my talent as a Host at a wide-variety of events.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
It was definitely my mother! Early on she used to guide me through auditions, commercials, and all sorts of events. While it’s not something I continued past my childhood, it clearly built a base for me to enjoy what I do now as a Host. I can’t thank her enough, and I frequently do!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Start a credit card early, and invest in either Bitcoin (if pre-2017), or Nvidia!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?

When I started as a content creator, the one thing I NEVER wanted to do was make a fake persona purely for my content. I understand why some people do this, and no shame to them AT ALL. However, for me personally, I don’t have the patience to act like someone I’m not. So any time I show up for content or for stream, I show up as my 100% authentic self.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Everything not related to spending time with my loved ones.
