Today we’d like to introduce you to Thermb2fly.
Hi Thermb2fly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Inglewood, California and I started making music in high school, it was something that I’ve always had the love for. I wanted to create and express different feelings while relating to others and lifting them up. Music is the perfect way to do that and to promote positivity while displaying my musical talent. After the success of my debut album, “Win the Race”, I built momentum in 2019 as a featured artist on the Get Money Stop Hatin Tour and the Who’s the Hottest platform. My sound is not limited to a specific coast or region. Traveling the world at a young age enables me to incorporate influences from all over the globe in my music. Evidence of that is the fact that in less than two years, I have worked with many artists from all over the nation such as Cory Gunz, Yung LA, Lexii Alijai, Young Thug, Rich the Kid, and more. I had a long journey that took discipline to get thru and put me where I am now today. Hip hop has a stigma of promoting violence, bravado, and general negativity. My music has a special way of conforming to the overall culture of mainstream hip hop music without reinforcing negative stereotypes while simultaneously pushing an agenda of hope to my listeners. “The positive influence and potential I have in what I do is something everyone should hear and hopefully take in and apply to themselves in some way, shape, or form. We all can be great no matter who you are.” — Thermb2fly
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely wasn’t smooth, a lot of setbacks and let downs. More than I can count but the difference was my mindset. Not staying down or back and picking myself up for my people my fan base. Financial obstacles, emotionally obstacles, and mental obstacles really played a big part in, I would say building up my resilience and motivation to keep going. I always keep my followers and supporters in mind and know there’s people out there counting on me including my community. For those reasons, I don’t quit.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an African American Hip Hop Artist whose stage name is “Thermb2fly”. I am also a humanitarian. I’m a songwriter, entertainer, rapper, and executive producer. I’m known for my collaborations, stage presence, and overall musical creations/talents. I’m most proud of my drive and journey, knowing I took every step to get the success and blessings I have today. Nothing was handed to me and I had great people behind me along the way. What sets me apart from others is that I’m original and influence a different way in my music than other hip hop artists do. I don’t ride waves I set them and grow. There won’t be another me just like there won’t be another Lil Wayne or Drake and it all starts with mentality which mines is apart from everyone else.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is seeing others succeed especially the ones close to me. Seeing people enjoy and connect to my music in ways I wouldn’t even imagine. It makes me happy knowing one of my songs helped someone thru their struggles. The reason why this makes me happy is because that’s who I am and how I was raised. You gotta push and be happy for others not just yourself. It’s like the saying, “It’s lonely at the top” getting there isn’t the problem but how many more deserving people could you get up there with. That’s a heart of gold seeing others grow and also be happy as well as successful.
