Check Out Yolanda Rosado’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Rosado.

Hi Yolanda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As far back as I can remember I’ve always loved makeup. I believe my love for makeup and glamor came from my mother. She sold Mary Kay Cosmetics back in the day, and when she hosted Mary Kay parties, I enjoyed watching her do makeup on the ladies. I remember how good and happy the ladies felt after the makeovers. It was like “wow” my mom literally transformed these already beautiful women into a glamorous version of themselves. But my absolute favorite was just watching her do her own makeup in the mirror, she would take the time to explain and show me how to do makeup on her. So, I give the credit to my mom for birthing the passion for makeup in me.

As I grew older my infatuation with makeup morphed into wanting to execute makeup on people. I started freelancing in my earlier 20s. That’s when I launched LA Eyes Makeup Artistry. I was pretty successful with my business when I first launched. I leveraged my business on Myspace which was a huge social media platform at the time, similar to today’s platforms. I was getting so much business and I realized I had a real knack for this industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t always a smooth road, I had many setbacks and challenges. Being that I wasn’t professionally trained back in the early 2000s, I was afraid to pursue makeup as a profession because of self-doubt. I saw myself as an “imposter” due to my lack of professional training, I felt others or clients would look at me as a fraud. I extremely doubted myself, my abilities, and my craft due to fear of failure and true confidence in my gift. Ultimately, I stopped doing makeup “professionally” on clients and shelved “L.A. Eyes Makeup Artistry” but continued to do family and friends as favors because makeup always remained a passion.

I may get some pushback by saying COVID-19 was a curse and gift with all that happened. But, being ordered to stay home/ stay safe offered a lot of downtimes to reflect on my life. I was reminded that life is too short to be wasteful. I reclaimed my true passion for makeup and realized I shelved my gift for far too damn long! I found a beauty school that was still open for in-person makeup courses and decided it was time to make my dreams as a Professional MUA official.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am now a certified professional make-up artist. I specialize in most styles of glamourous make-up and stay current with trends. However, I am most known for my Natural Glam makeup style. Which consists of full-face make-up (contour, highlighting, blush, lashes, etc.), but with a look of naturalness. I feel every woman is beautiful in her own right and make-up should be used to enhance the beauty of women. Of course, there are occasions when more dramatic or face art is needed. But honestly, women who book my make-up services just want to be a “glamourous” version of themselves. I want my client to walk into a room and take everyone’s breath away with her beauty and confidence but be recognizable at the same time.

Upon my return to doing makeup professionally, I officially laid down the L.A. Eyes Make-up Artistry brand, because I am no longer in my early 20s as a young, on-the-scene L.A. girl. I relaunched my brand as Rosado Beauty, I felt my brand needed to evolve into who I am now and to represent beauty as a whole.

Rosado Beauty is a brand that represents all beauty for all women. Beauty to me comes from within. It’s not the wardrobe, the hairstyles, or the makeup. It’s being confident in the woman you are today no matter what shape, size, color, etc. Rosado Beauty will always be a brand that brings out your natural beauty from the inside out.

I am most proud of the work I’ve accomplished so far with being booked continuously, I have clients every weekend, and I’ve been booked for weddings and photoshoots. At times, I am shocked at my success in a short amount of time.

That just reminds me of my passion for makeup and the gift/skills to execute it has always been present and self-doubt was a waste of my time.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I currently offer additional services. I provide eyebrow services; tinting, lamination, and professional facials, which are amazing and important for skin health. Also, I offer 1 on 1 lessons, and group make-up classes, which you could sign up for on my website. Soon, my online makeup courses will be available, which will be geared towards the “everyday woman,” they will consist of modules to show women how to achieve their signature Natural Glam themselves.

I am in the process of opening beauty suites with my business partner, so other beauty pros can lease a studio/salon space for their personal beauty business.

But, I am most excited about launching the Rosado Beauty cosmetic line, I’ve been working tirelessly with getting my line ready for 2023.

Rosado Beauty is taking the make-up industry by the horns and pursuing my career with all that’s in me. I give God the glory for all opportunities that come my way and forever thank Him for all blessings.

Stay tuned for all to come from Rosado Beauty.
