Hi Turquesa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up in the Bronx, i always dreamed of leaving for a life filled with endless possibilities. New York City, back then, didn’t offer the media opportunities or education i needed, so i packed her bags and headed to Los Angeles after high school. Enrolling at Columbia College Hollywood, i originally set out to become a director. But a camera operating class changed my entire path.

“I fell in love with the technical side of filmmaking,” Working at the school’s equipment center, i honed my skills and began working with several prominent camera rental houses in Los Angeles, including Visionary Forces and Stray Angle Films. I also worked with influencers, capturing moments that would go viral.

After years in the industry, i transitioned to production roles, climbing the ladder from PA to coordinator. Following the writers’ strike, i decided to pursue my true passion—shooting for entertainers, events and products:

That’s when Milagros Studios was born, named after my mother’s name, which means “miracle” in Spanish. “It’s a miracle I made it out of the Bronx and built this career,” .

Now, I’m behind the lens, shooting products, models, and events, helping others create lasting memories. “I love what I do,” “It’s all about capturing magic.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The struggles in the film industry was the strike and also last year it’s been dry. But you always have to look at the bright side and find different ways to make it better.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a woman and camera operator in Los Angeles, I specialize in capturing the essence of moments through the lens. My work focuses on a range of visual storytelling, from shooting products and models to covering high-end events and working with entertainers. I thrive in creating dynamic, impactful visuals that help bring stories to life.

What sets me apart is my attention to detail and my dedication to my craft. I truly believe in making every shot count, whether it’s for a commercial, a product shoot, or a major event. My background working with influencers and being involved in both the creative and technical sides of filmmaking gives me a unique perspective that others might not have. I’m able to balance the artistry of visual storytelling with the technical precision needed to capture the perfect shot.

What I’m most proud of is the fact that I built my business, Milagros Studios, from the ground up. It was a huge leap of faith, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come and how I’ve turned my passion into a successful career. Named after my mother, whose name means “miracle” in Spanish, it represents the journey I’ve been on and the miracles that have happened along the way.

Being a woman in this field, especially as a camera operator, has its challenges, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. I love being able to show that women can excel in technical, creative roles. My goal is always to inspire others, especially young women, to follow their passions and carve their own paths in the future.
