Today we’d like to introduce you to Traylin Cole
Hi Traylin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Bellflower, California, and when I was 12, my family moved to Long Beach. I was around the same time that I got into music I sing in the choir both at my church and At my high school and the rest is history I was in a group called JTO for a while. That’s when I put out songs like Natalie, Enamorado, And all alone. my time with that group really made me want to pursue making music on my own. That’s when I came out with my first EP in 2018 called journey is my best piece of work no but it definitely pave the way for me to take music more seriously that’s exactly what I did. I would go to open Mike’s different places and perform record in different studios. Goes to learn how to Record myself so I wouldn’t have to rely on being able to buy studio time every time. Fast forward to 2024 in the amount of place where growth is the number one thing on my mind had my first baby and I am now engaged so I took a little break from music, but I love forward has never died down all my supporters can look forward to new music Coming very very soon.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like many other artists, my journey Just a smoothest ride I’ve dealt with a lot of personal things anxiety. You know confidence in my music and myself. Stage fright I know sometimes you do music fear of just letting people hear music and trying to get their reaction and see what their reaction gonna be sometimes is worse than then performing in a crowd of people or more
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Anyone who’s heard a song say it’s a smooth mix between alternative hip-hop and R&B I feel like my suit is my singing my R&B skills Proud of the fact that I learned to record myself and produce myself makes vocals master the track still haven’t learned how to make a beat yet, but We’ll get there Thing that says me apart from other artist is that I speak from the heart I feel I say things that I’m feeling at the time say things that may resonate with other men young men, my age And I’ve never been wanted to Just to follow trend. I’ve always done my own thing had my own style had my own way of thinking I never was sheep in the pack I was wanted to be Myself no matter who I was around
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
The experience of finding a mentor is different for everybody. Some People don’t have anyone around them who would be able to give them the proper advice needed to move forward. My advice would be to expand your horizons maybe go places you really wouldn’t regularly go to and make sure you network you know if you go to an event somewhere Just, you never know what someone else knows and they may be interested in what you’re doing and want to help you they may offer you help
