Today we’d like to introduce you to The Erike Brothers.
The Erike Brothers, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Jaric and I are busy at work finishing up post-production for our showcase film, “CUT.” We were lucky enough to have Craig Mann (Oscar-Winning sound designer from “Whiplash”) and Jill Bogdanowicz (Award-Winning Colorist from “Joker”, “Grand Budapest Hotel”, “John Wick 4”) to sign onto our post-production team. We have been fans of both of them for years and consideration them both GOATs of their respective Hollywood sectors. We couldn’t be more blessed to call them our colleagues. In the last few months, we have been taking meetings with various production houses and studios, including Paramount, Fifth Season, Plan B, Amazon, and more. The positive reception has honestly been surreal. We’ve dreamt of speaking with these executives for so long, to be finally able to embrace and take on the moment is very humbling.
We are rapidly approaching our May showcase date (TBD), but we have been granted the opportunity to showcase “CUT” at a very special venue before also get to show it at our beautiful alma mater, Loyola Marymount University (shoutout to President Timothy Law Snyder and Dean Dayle Smith).
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This has been a decade-long journey for us. The hardest part of the whole journey is likely feeling like people don’t see your vision, hear your story, but we never gave up. 10 years later, hear we are with our chance to share our sci-fi, drama, thriller, comedic, and more stories for generations to come.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So CUT, our showcase film is a story about Jaric and I having an idea of what will break us into Hollywood. It is a very “meta” story to say the least, however all is not what it seems (like most stories Jaric and I like to tell). Without spoiling anything, it will definitely leave you on the edge of your seats. The fact we are diverse voices able to tell all genres of stories: sci-fi, drama, thriller, comedy, that is our defining factor. Our story idols, Christopher Nolan, Steven Spielberg, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck, we believe, would be proud of our mindset of wanting to tell all sorts of stories and not just stick to one corner of the playground.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The harder you work and more time you put in, the more “luck” you create for yourself. You have better odds when you have 10 times to try to hit a bullseye versus just 1.
