Today we’d like to introduce you to Sebrina Pham.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I believe tattooing is a calling. I felt the first call when I was in high school and wanted to pursue some sort of art as a career path. Tattooing was something I always wanted to do, but didn’t know how to get there. However, life aligned for me and it found me. I am always thankful for tattooing and I don’t take the art form or my clients for granted. It is a lot of responsibility to make artwork that lasts a lifetime and I plan to keep as much love and integrity in my work.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, smooth is not what I would call it. Every ups and downs ended up serving a higher lesson in the end though. I had a toxic first apprenticeship that exposed me to the dark side of the industry. However, that one ended terribly (thankfully), but I was able to finish my apprenticeship with Diving Swallow in Oakland, CA. Diving Swallow shower me the wonderful things about the industry. They showed me community, support, love and integrity in our work.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a multi-dimensional artist located in Los Angeles, CA. Right now, my main focus is on tattooing, but I have always been an artist in many mediums. I currently specialize in fine line tattoos. I pride myself on my intricate attention to details in my work. The themes of my work include, but aren’t limited to; surrealism, fine arts, illustration, Asian art, botanicals, and anime/manga/pop culture. I am proud of my work, but I am also proud of the connections I make with my clients. I am deeply thankful that my clients and I can come together to bond over art and life. It truly makes life worth living.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Los Angeles for its diversity and food culture! I love that it is a hub for art. Anything that can exist here, does exist, good or bad. I love that people come together to make art here. The thing I like the least is the driving. ):
