Today we’d like to introduce you to Saïda Fakher.
Hi Saïda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey with a deep love for storytelling, expressed through both acting and music. Singing and performing have always been my way to give voice to emotions, and acting became my first true calling. I trained and worked in TV, film and theater in the Netherlands, where I learned to move between mediums with ease. I was fortunate to share the stage and screen with incredible Dutch talents such as Margôt Ros, Leopold Witte, Humberto Tan, Loes Luca, and stars from the Netherlands’ longest-running soap opera Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden, including Caroline de Bruijn and Marly van der Velden. From European film and television to working internationally, I’ve grown into both an actress and an executive producer.
Step by step, I built my path, always driven by the belief that authentic stories have the power to connect us across cultures. A big milestone arrives on October 30: The movie “Zwijgrecht” premieres in Amsterdam and rolls out in Benelux cinemas, where I play a mafia boss. Another exciting project is Brenda Live, currently in development at River Rock Films, written by Paul Bunch, where I’ll step into the lead role of Brenda.
Beyond performing, I build bridges through Fakher Media and River Rock Films — connecting talent across continents. Whether on set, on stage, or in the studio, my mission is the same: tell authentic stories that travel.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and I wouldn’t want it to be. Every challenge pushed me to think bigger, move smarter, and build instead of wait. Early on, I realized that if the right roles or opportunities weren’t handed to me, I had two choices: sit still, or create. I chose to create. That’s how I grew into not only an actress but also an executive producer and entrepreneur.
When funding stalled, I learned how to attract investors. When doors didn’t open, I built my own platforms through Fakher Media. When others doubted, I doubled down on my vision. The struggles taught me that persistence isn’t enough — you need strategy, global thinking, and the courage to take risks. Today, that mindset allows me to connect talent across continents, develop projects like Disinformation directed by James McTeigue with River Rock Films, and carry a film like Zwijgrecht into cinemas.
So no, the road hasn’t been smooth. But that’s exactly what shaped me into someone who doesn’t just follow opportunities.. I create them, scale them, and make them real.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work is about creating experiences that stay with people. I specialize in acting, music, and executive producing.. blending them so stories hit harder, linger longer, and cross borders. I take on roles that demand presence: characters who dominate a scene, shift the room’s energy, and leave audiences questioning what they just witnessed. Behind the camera, I build teams, connect talent with investors, and shape projects from spark to screen — making films and series that travel, resonate, and inspire.
I’m proud of turning challenges into opportunities: bringing international productions to life, developing stories with global reach, and giving other voices a platform. What sets me apart? I don’t wait. I create. I follow through. I turn vision into reality, bridging art and strategy, and aim to leave work that is bold, unmistakable, and unforgettable — always remembering it’s never about me alone, but about the story and the people who make it possible.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
What often surprises people is that behind the bold characters I play and the big visions I produce, I’m actually very observant and experimental. I treat every role, production, and collaboration like a living experiment — testing, adjusting, and learning in real time. I love combining intuition with strategy, and while most people see only the polished results, what really drives me are the risks, the iterations, and the quiet moments of reflection that lead to breakthroughs. It’s that mix of daring action and thoughtful reflection that shapes everything I create and pushes stories to reach audiences in ways they didn’t expect.
