Check Out Rosie Rodriguez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosie Rodriguez

Hi Rosie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Rosie. Actor and Jewelry Artist. I started my acting journey in 2017 after college, and I’ve had my small business since 2020 (Peak of the Pandemic). I am a self taught artist, but always wanting to learn new skills. I am a hardworking actor in this big and also small industry. I have numerous credits and like everyone in this town I’m longing for my big break.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wish I could say ‘Yes’ but sadly thats not the case. I think that is what attracts me to seeing my career from both sides as a small business owner and an actor.

Lets start on the Acting side, I am very lucky to have been booked on AMAZING projects; Euphoria, Dollface, The Idol to name a few. In 2023 I finished my first feature film “Cover Girls” and I am working on other new things this year. Despite the accomplishments which I am very grateful for, I have had a challenging time getting my momentum back since the actors strike. My mind tends to race with a million thoughts from “Am I good enough” to “Oh no i’ve peaked”. Which is not the case at all. To combat this journey, I know it’s not a race, and my career has just begun. Therapy also does wonders.

On the artists side, I’ve learned slowly to “Ride the wave” trademark of my wonderful mother. This shop has its ebbs and flows and doesn’t mean I’m a bad or good artist. Its just part of owning a shop for yourself. You have agency to market yourself and to work on things that YOU will enjoy making. I sometimes struggle with the classic burnout, which comes with the territory. Like I said; Therapy does WONDERS.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an actor, skilled in comedy/drama and improv AND most recently tap dance (I’m a beginner don’t come for me) My known credits are from the show “Euphoria” and “Dollface” and don’t worry, i’ll be back on your televisions soon!!

My shop is Lockets&Bows and you can find me on Etsy and Tik Tok Shop! I am skilled with resin work, 3d printing, laser printed jewelry, etc. My skills are ever growing and changing and I’m always learning a new skill! My best selling items are my “Famous painting”earrings and my custom Vintage Cake necklaces.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’ve recently gotten back into reading by going to my local library. The library kind of sets me on a good pace where I have a deadline to finish a book instead of letting them collect dust. I highly recommend supporting your local libraries for resources like covid tests, renting tools and of course books, audiobooks and movies. I love supporting my library. In a very crucial time where books are under scrutiny and getting banned, its important to consume as much physical media as you can.
