Today we’d like to introduce you to Parker Weldon.
Hi Parker, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story, like most do, begins in Hollywood (or more accurately, the greater Los Angeles area). I was born and raised here, and whether I came into the world this way or it was a product of growing up in this city, I found myself bit by the bug before I even knew what it was. Whether it was in movies, theater, or home videos I insisted on making as a kid, I’ve always known I wanted to act. So that’s what I did. As far back as I can remember, I was writing skits, making home movies, putting on performances for friends – doing anything to be able to act.
My first ever role was in community theatre, and after that I threw myself into high school plays until I found myself at Columbia College Chicago, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre. Since then, I’ve been back in LA and continuing my training of the craft at the Howard Fine Acting Studio while building my career across stage and screen. Most recently, I performed in a 72-Hour Play Festival, and it was so much fun to put the skills that I’ve been learning to use. I’m still very much in process; always learning, always working. But I feel lucky to have always known what it is that I want to do, and to be able to choose that thing everyday is a dream.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No road in life, or in this industry, is ever truly smooth, but to me that’s part of what makes the journey worthwhile. I show up every day and put in the work. Whether that means preparing for auditions, training in class, working survival jobs, or pushing through rejection, I keep going. Of course, I’d love if someone handed me everything I’ve ever dreamed of on a shiny platter. Who wouldn’t? But then I wouldn’t have earned it. And I take real pride in knowing that every step forward has come from my own effort.
This path isn’t for the faint of heart. There are 8 billion people in the world, and in this industry it can sometimes feel like you’re in a room with all of them. People who look like you, sound like you, dress like you, maybe even have the same résumé. But they’re not you, and that’s the difference. You have to do this for yourself, for the love of the work, the love of the craft, the love of the process. Otherwise, what’s the point? If you have your reason, your fuel, your drive – nothing else matters.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the core of what I do, I am an actor, a storyteller. I specialize in bringing grounded, emotionally honest characters to life, whether that’s on stage or on screen. I’m drawn to roles that live in that messy, human gray area. The ones that allow me to be vulnerable, bold, and just a little bit cracked open. I love exploring the tension between humor and heartbreak, and I think that duality is something I bring to the work.
What I’m most proud of is my willingness to keep showing up. This industry can be brutal, and it asks a lot of you. But I keep choosing it, day after day. I’m proud of the range I’ve built, from classical theatre training to contemporary film work, and the fact that I never stop learning.
What sets me apart is my perspective. I’m not trying to be the most polished version of someone else; I’m trying to be the most honest version of myself. And I think people can feel that. I’m not afraid to take up space, to make big choices, to fail gloriously in pursuit of something true. At the end of the day, what sets me apart is simple: I’m me. Uniquely, unapologetically, me.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is truth. In art, in relationships, in the way I move through the world. I think at the end of the day, all any of us really want is to be seen and understood, and for me, acting has always been a way to chase that. To reflect something real. That’s why I’m drawn to the mess, to the contradictions, to the gray areas of being human. I want to tell stories that make people feel less alone, because that’s what the best stories have always done for me.
Truth matters because it’s the foundation for everything else – connection, empathy, impact. It’s not always comfortable, but it’s always worth it. And if I can keep creating from that place, then I know I’m doing what I’m meant to do.
