Today we’d like to introduce you to Neha Jespersen.
Hi Neha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi! My name is Neha and my story, although unique, is a probably a familiar one to many of your readers. A first generation born in the US to two Indian parents, my story began in New York. I was then raised in India by my aunt and uncle, who I still call and adore as my Mummy and Papa. At 13, I moved back with my biological parents, who had then settled in Atlanta and I loved my high school years there. After, 4 years of college in Charleston, I moved to California. I met and married a Cali native, and we have three awesome kids who are 14, 12 and 9.
Our young married life in Pasadena was truly fun and I discovered a wonderful community here. Work in my Real Estate career came naturally to me, and I have truly enjoyed working side by side with my clients who share this very personal journey with me.
I am also very much involved in the community. I served on the board for Circle of Friends, a fundraising arm for Kidspace Children’s Museum. I have served on the board for the Pasadena Association of Realtors and I have recently taken on the position of PTA president for my children’s school. Keeping an active work/life balance, traveling with my family, being with my friends and enjoying the small/day to day things is my happy place!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, my biggest obstacle is constantly balancing a real estate career while being a mom. I am very hands on with my kids and really have to juggle drop offs, pick ups, sports, meetings, showings, grocery runs, making dinner and doing the laundry all in the same day! The real estate industry, while having a preconception of being flexible, demands quick problem solving, timely negotiating and fierce experterise.
However, here is what I have learned and implemented in order to succeed in all the areas of my life.
First, I’ve embraced technology and it has been a game-changer – allowing me to work from anywhere and stay connected with clients even during high stressful and time sensitive deals. I have also built a supportive network, whether through family, friends, or fellow real estate professionals, and it has helped me thrive in both areas.
Ultimately, the skills gained from marriage and motherhood, such as patience, empathy, compromise and negotiation, have ultimately enhanced my career, creating a fulfilling balance between work and family life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am real estate agent based out of Pasadena. I have had the privilege of working with clients over the last decade in every step of their real estate journey, helping clients buy, sell or rent properties from San Gabriel to Thousand Oaks. I also have a great network of real estate agents around the country that can help my clients or family members with their moving needs.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
“Stay Calm and Carry On” is truly my mantra. In work and in life, it is important to see the full picture before jumping to any conclusions. Through travel, I have seen so many parts of the world, and I always come home with the same conclusion- everyone in the world is really doing the same thing. We all want to work hard, live a good and blessed life, have success in love and in our work and enjoy our time as much as we can.
With this in mind, I can really help my clients through a very personal journey in their lives. Whether you are buying your first home, or selling your lifetime home, it’s a life changing decision and I work really hard to ease that process. Step by step and as a team, I don’t see these as deals, but rather as lifetime memories. This is why I am referred time and time again by clients.
