Check Out Mimi Miller-Montaño’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mimi Miller-Montaño.

Hi Mimi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been drawn to art – fashion in particular. In high school, for an English class project, I had the choice to write a poem or make a dress. Naturally, I chose the dress. At the same time, I’ve always been highly organized, and I feel my best when everything is in order. After earning my degree in Fashion Design, I launched my own clothing business while working as an administrative assistant for stability. That’s when I realized just how essential it is to have someone supporting daily operations. Running a business while working a 9-to-5 left me constantly wishing for an extra set of hands. I went on to hold several Executive Assistant roles where I thrived because I genuinely enjoyed the art of organizing someone’s day-to-day. These roles also blended creativity, from helping launch a new business to assisting with creative projects at a high-end catering company. When I moved to Los Angeles in 2022, I decided to bring those worlds together and founded Tenny: an administrative and creative company designed for elevated brands – where organization meets design. My goal with Tenny is to support businesses across admin, design, and events, taking on the important but time-consuming tasks so founders can focus on their zone of genius and show up fully for their clients.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
What’s both exciting and challenging about Tenny is its niche. There aren’t many companies that blend my level of experience in administration, design, and creative support – which makes Tenny stand out, but also means it takes time to educate people on the value of what I do. Often, when entrepreneurs or businesses bring someone into this type of role, it’s an entry-level, part-time hire – someone who is only around temporarily. That creates a short-term, surface-level partnership without real investment. Tenny was built to be the opposite. It’s a white-glove service that clients can rely on consistently. I approach every partnership with a long-term mindset, striving for success on their behalf as if it were my own. For me, this isn’t about being here today and gone tomorrow – it’s about building trust, stability, and lasting impact.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I describe myself as a creative who blends organization with design. On any given day, I might be managing a client’s inbox and calendar to ensure nothing slips through the cracks, designing a branded template that perfectly reflects their aesthetic, and coordinating with vendors to make sure an event runs flawlessly. That’s the heart of Tenny – a fusion of administrative, design, and event services. From email and calendar management to client inquiry handling, brand refreshes, web design, custom templates, and event management, both in the pre-planning stage and onsite. I provide holistic support that allows founders to focus on what they do best. I’ve built a reputation as the go-to when you need an assistant who can organize your life, streamline your business, and finally check off those lingering tasks that keep getting pushed aside. What I’m most proud of, though, is my consistency. Running a business comes with incredible highs and inevitable lows, and it’s showing up every single day, through both, that makes the difference. What sets me apart is my ability to seamlessly merge organization and project management with design. Too often, people only bring one or the other to the table. I bring both, creating a partnership that is not only functional but also beautifully aligned with each client’s brand and vision.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband, my family, and past/present clients are my biggest cheerleaders, supporters, and advocates. I can’t thank my husband and family enough for always cheering me on when it’s tough, and for clients for always referring me to their friends and business colleagues.
