Check Out Maxie Mandel’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maxie Mandel

Hi Maxie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story starts in 6th grade, where upon starting middle school I realized I didn’t “fit in” as easily as the others. I didn’t have a friend group and wasn’t very attractive, and I had a really hard time making friends. I was lonely and rejected by my peers, so I started channeling these feelings of extreme isolation and wanting into songwriting. I had been writing rudimentary songs since the age of 5, but around age 11 is when my songs started becoming serious therapeutic outlets for me.

Throughout middle school and high school, my songs shifted from cynical social hierarchy commentaries to anthems with the intent to inspire and empower others grappling with loneliness and aimlessness. That remains my mission today as an artist- to channel the pain and adversity I experienced growing up into a force for good. My music is for the underdogs and the overlooked, and we are all going to rise some day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Upon my first release at 15, I quickly realized a major obstacle in my path to finding an audience. Budget has always been something I’ve struggled with, and still do. As an independent artist, I have found myself caught in a viscous cycle- never having enough money to market my music, but knowing the only way I can grow my listeners and find new fans is by putting a marketing budget behind each release.

My biggest struggle to this day is finding affordable ways to market my songs as they come out, but I’ve had a very hard time doing so, as there are few ways today that are budget friendly and successful. Even so, I believe in myself and my mission so much that I know the right audience will find me one day- I just have to keep going!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an artist, songwriter and vocal producer. While pursuing my artist career, I have started writing and producing for other artists, and have found it’s something I’m really good at. I have perfected the art of making a 3 minute and 30 second catchy pop song, and hope to be known as one of the greatest songwriters of my generation!

I am most proud of my mission as an artist to use my music and my platform to be a force for good in the world. I feel that most artists in the music industry today don’t have a purpose that goes beyond themselves and their own careers, leading to superficial music that doesn’t truly connect with people. What sets me apart is my unwavering authenticity and belief in the power of my music as a unifier.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am dying to collaborate with as many people as possible! Please reach out to me at @maxiemmusic on IG if you’re interested in working together.

If you want to listen to my music, you can find me on all streaming platforms under Maxie Mandel. Be on the lookout for new music releasing later this month!
