Today we’d like to introduce you to Lillani Moran.

Hi Lillani, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a dj from Los Angeles, CA and an astrology enthusiast. For anyone who has known me for the past 20 years or so they can attest to my fascination with astrology and energy work. In high school, I started asking every single person that breathed around me what sign they were. After years and years and years of still asking – I have seen certain patterns with people of the same sign. I’ve been known to guess someone’s sign correctly after a few drinks (or three)!

When the opportunity came to do a microcast on astrology how could I not do it on the one subject that has held my interest for more than 25 years?

So I’m here to break down all this astrology mumbo jumbo down in simple digestible terms. My goal is to use astrology as an additional part of therapy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of my most rewarding experiences came as a result of willing to lose it all. For me, my intuition is stronger than logic. When I get a strong feeling to do something, I’ll use logic to figure it out. In 2015 I quit my lush job at NBC Universal, packed a bag and moved to Guatemala.

Not knowing the culture, the language, or anyone there made the experience very challenging. I´ve been robbed, sexually assaulted, verbally attacked, and taken advantage off simply because I was a foreigner. Nonetheless, I stayed in Guatemala for five years in battling personal demons. But…

Getting away from all that Hollywood noise gave me clarity and time to really think about how I wanted to live my life and how I was going to make it come to fruition.

Through the silence, I gained a deeper knowledge of self. I discovered my life’s purpose – -to educate and heal through entertainment.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Standing still is boring! And that ain’t me! Listen, I’m your typical L.A. chick – DJ, video editor and astrology enthusiast — seemingly, I did all the things you’re supposed to do when living in LA. I was in these streets!

But there were some things missing.

Meaning. Purpose. Clarity.

If I kept on keeping on, I would have been striving for clout, recognition, and dollar signs. Ego-based desires.

In 2015, I said, “fuck it”.

I quit my job at NBC, sold my things, dwindled my belongings down to a backpacker’s backpack, grabbed my DJ mixer and moved to Guatemala. My thought process was I would Dj and yoga my way through Central America while I figured out a long-term plan. If I crashed and burned at least, I’ll come out speaking Spanish. Right?

Best. Decision. Ever.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
When I started Astrocast my goal was to create astrological content in a way that was understandable yet personal. Because I worked in marketing, I knew I needed an Instagram account, and with the advice of some friends, started a youtube channel and began podcasting. I didn’t really want to be on camera or be an ¨influencer¨ but something told me that if I kept pushing at making Astrocast viable, something would come from it.

In 2021, I lost a very comfy freelance teaching job, I broke up with my boyfriend of eight years, lost a really good friend to brain cancer and another to covid related issues. My mental health and the financial situation took a rapid decline.

In the midst of fog, I suddenly had to move out of my house and look for other job opportunities. The reward? Having the mindset of starting over and rebuilding my life the way I saw fit. I picked up my first love again, editing.

As luck would have it, all the content I created for Astrocast suddenly became my resume. Within a few months, I started getting YouTubers, TikTok stars, and instagram influencers as regular editing clients.
