Check Out Kristie Jorfald’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristie Jorfald.

Hi Kristie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Fashion has always been my first language. I started my career styling clients across red carpets, campaigns, and closets—building confidence and clarity through wardrobe alignment. But what began as a one-woman styling agency quickly grew into something far more expansive.

You may have seen my work on Taylor Swift back in 2008, or Beyoncé in 2013. I’ve styled the Jenner sisters, Anna Kendrick, and countless red carpet icons. I was hired to recreate the dress code policy for CBS News Chicago and worked behind the scenes on the two-time Emmy-nominated makeover show How Do I Look? on E!. These were pivotal moments—but they were only the beginning.

As a trilingual woman (Colombian Spanish, English, and French) with Swiss, Norwegian, and American citizenship, I’ve always believed that style is universal, but identity is sacred. My work has never been about chasing trends—it’s about unlocking the version of you the world hasn’t fully met yet.

I founded Kristie Jorfald Style to help women elevate not just their wardrobe, but their confidence, clarity, and presence. Over the years, the business evolved—what began as closet cleanses and red carpet styling turned into legacy-level branding for professional athletes, WAGs, and public figures who are building empires in the spotlight.

Today, one of the most exciting parts of my work is styling WAGs for game days. We’re not just coordinating outfits—we’re building custom looks from scratch: bespoke jackets, statement pieces, jersey corsets and accessories that make them the centerpiece of the entire stadium. The wives and girlfriends we work with aren’t in the background—they are the moment. Every stitch is intentional. Every look is designed for impact.

In addition to KJS, I launched Tour de Chic, a luxury fashion concierge for jetsetters and global travelers. Think curated destination wardrobes, digital style guides to match travel itineraries, and in-person pop-up experiences that feel like Paris meets the Pacific. We’ve proudly hosted private pop-ups featuring exclusive pieces from Chanel, Hermès, YSL, Celine, Oscar de la Renta, Bottega Veneta, and Moda Operandi—giving our clients insider access to the world’s most coveted brands. We dress couples for honeymoons, families for European summers, and solo travelers looking to feel like their best selves in every city they touch down in.

Now, in a full-circle moment, I’ve returned to my hometown of Lake Forest, IL, and am launching a private Style Suite in the heart of downtown Market Square. It’s a sacred space where luxury meets intimacy—a hidden gem for elite clients looking to shop exclusive pieces sourced exclusively through my partners on Rodeo Drive and South Coast Plaza, attend private fittings, and experience high-touch activations and styling in a way that’s never been done before on the North Shore.

At the heart of everything I do—whether it’s styling a Vogue-level athlete, a jetsetting couple, or a woman stepping into her next era—is the belief that style is a sacred extension of self. When we dress in alignment with who we are becoming, we change how we move through the world.

This is what I live for. This is what I was born to do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth—but it’s been worth every step.

I started this styling journey at 19 years old, with nothing but passion, a strong work ethic, and the belief that I could make something of it. I began as an intern, worked my way up as an assistant for five years, became a key stylist, and eventually stepped fully into my power as a business owner. I built my career from scratch—no shortcuts, no handouts—just a deep love for the craft and a drive to keep growing.

Challenges have always been part of the story, but to me, they’re the best part. They keep you hungry. They make you better. Whether it was long days on set, clients backing out, or learning how to run a business while still being the creative—I took every obstacle as an opportunity to figure it out, just like everyone else trying to build something real.

What I’ve learned is that you don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need belief. If you stay focused, work hard, and commit to your vision, things start to align. That mindset has carried me through the highs, the lows, and every reinvention along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a luxury branding wardrobe stylist and founder of two style-based businesses: Kristie Jorfald Style and Tour de Chic.

At Kristie Jorfald Style, I specialize in working with high-profile clients—professional athletes, WAGs, thought leaders, and media personalities—helping them build a wardrobe that matches the brand they’re becoming. We’re especially known for our custom work with WAGs, ensuring they stand out and look unforgettable on game day and beyond. Whether it’s designing a custom piece from scratch, collaborating with a designer to personalize every detail, or transforming their husband’s jersey into a corset or sideline dress—every look is one-of-a-kind. It’s not about blending in with the team—it’s about owning the moment and being the centerpiece of the experience.

What sets my work apart is the emotional intelligence behind the style. I don’t just send links or pull clothes—I study the client, their energy, their goals, and I create a style strategy that reflects the life they’re stepping into. My background is in storytelling through fashion, and I bring that to every fitting, every look, every moment. With a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Creative Writing and a Master of Arts in Teaching, I’ve built a business rooted in education, empathy, and transformation. Every look I create is informed by deep research, intentionality, and a clear narrative—because great style isn’t just seen, it’s deeply felt.

Tour de Chic is my luxury fashion concierge for global travelers. We curate head-to-toe looks for honeymoons, family vacations, couple escapes, and solo adventures—ensuring our clients feel effortless and elevated from departure to destination. But more than that, Tour de Chic has become a trusted partner to an incredible community of luxury travel advisors. Together, we offer a complete experience—pairing curated itineraries with curated wardrobes. It’s a beautiful synergy: they design the journey, and we design the look to match it. I’m proud of the community we’ve built, and even prouder of the relationships that continue to grow through it.

I’m so grateful for the opportunities that have come my way and been able to style some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports. I’ve created my own lane in an industry that doesn’t hand out blueprints. But more than anything—I’ve helped people feel powerful in their skin. That’s the real legacy.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happiest is watching someone light up when they see themselves—really see themselves—in a way they maybe never have before. When a client puts on a look and stands a little taller… when a WAG steps onto the sidelines feeling like the moment… when a mom on vacation finally feels like herself again in something effortless and elevated—that’s everything to me.

I love creating beauty, but more than that, I love creating alignment. Helping people feel powerful in their skin, in their story, and in their presence—that’s where the magic is.

Travel brings me deep joy. There’s something sacred about being in a new place—out of my comfort zone, off routine. It forces me to learn something new about myself, about others, and about the world. I leave every destination more open, more compassionate, and more in love with life.

I also find happiness in the little things that connect me to who I am: singing at the top of my lungs while driving with the windows down, dancing salsa with my Colombian family, being surrounded by people who lift me up, laugh with me, and love me without question. Those are the moments that ground me.

And I’m endlessly inspired by being in community with other entrepreneurs and solopreneurs who are on fire about what they do. Sitting at a table with people who speak with passion and purpose—it feeds my soul and reminds me why I chose this path.

To me, happiness isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence, connection, letting yourself be fully alive in the moment and living your truth with gratitude.
