Today we’d like to introduce you to Kris Franklin.
Hi Kris, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I was infatuated with fashion at a very young age from my grandmother, mother, and uncles. After a baseball college career, I decided to pursue my dream of being a designer. I started MOODLA in 2018, which lead me to move to LA. I went back to school at LATTC to hone my skills on pattern making and design. Which shoes in my design today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been anything but smooth. Many challenges I faced. Personal thoughts or lack of funding. Getting others to see your vision is one of the most difficult things to accomplish but continue to believing that God will provide a way and keep working. I still have a long way to go but the things I’ve went through and experienced I’m grateful for those moments got me to where I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am fashion designer. I make men RTW (ready-to-wear). I have made several collections. I’m most proud of the collection I just created I haven’t released yet but just to see the growth from when I first started to now is special to me. I believe the thing that sets me apart is the stories I tell through the garments. I feel that is what separates any designer.
