Check Out KB Vega’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to KB Vega.

Hi KB, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
How it all began…….

Having already a positivity platform on IG, I wanted to incorporate my love of fashion as well as hone in on my creativity all while inspiring others to be the best versions of themselves thru self-love, body positivity & confidence. That’s when I decided to turn my social media platform into a brand and I created my company, the InspiHER Empire…..a FEEL GOOD, trendy clothing and lifestyle brand to uplift & inspire others. Having dealt with insecurities and body issues at a young age, I wanted to create products that people would feel good wearing and using all while loving themselves completely.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would be lying big time if I told you that when I started my company a little over a year ago, everything had been peaches and cream. It has not. Many times, I wanted to throw in the towel and just give up but I knew by doing so, not only would I be letting myself down but letting others down as well who depended on me. And that was too much of a burden to bear, so giving up was not an option. I wish there was someone who told me how hard it was to start your own business…..like a guide sheet on the do’s and don’ts, lol. But, I am beyond grateful for everything I have learned within this past year. And guess what? I’m still learning.

I think some of the challenges I’ve had to face along the way were, learning website building as well as SEO techy stuff that I am not so familiar with. Think of it as learning a whole different language from scratch. I’m learning as I go which has allowed me the leeway to fix things from the start which, I consider a positive thing. Another challenge has been finding new, fun & creative ways to market my brand. I’m getting more comfortable with putting myself out there for my brand’s awareness. In doing so, I have also come across another challenge I have been faced with, what I call, designer’s block…..where I literally have a vision and can’t execute it correctly or where my creativity has taken a break and has not told me when it will come back lol. I guess that’s my body & mind telling me I need a little time away to rethink what I want to design. And I think the biggest challenge I’ve had to overcome as a solo entrepreneur is time management…..finding enough time for EVERYTHING like designing/creating, marketing, posting, website creation, answering emails/concerns, etc. It’s a lot of work but I love it because this is something I’ve always wanted to do. This is my passion so I will take the challenges as they come and learn from trial and error to get better each and every day.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I consider myself an inspirationalist…..a person who inspires or whose beliefs are likely to inspire others; all while boosting one’s self-respect, worth & confidence. Growing up struggling with my own insecurities & dealing with those all throughout young adulthood, I started a positivity platform where people could be let into my world where I could share my experiences & how I overcame the negative ones. By doing this, although it put myself in a vulnerable position, I hopefully shed some light on those people struggling, that if I could overcome it, they could too. And that to me was more important than my vulnerability. Being able to step out of my comfort zone to help others fully love themselves for who they are, is what I am most proud of.

I wanted to incorporate another passion of mine, which happens to be fashion, along with my love of helping & inspiring others. I added my creativity niche and positivity mindset to the mix and voilá…..the InspiHER Empire was born.

The mission for my company is to create fun, trendy, inspirational & comfortable products & clothing that will inspire and uplift you while using and wearing our merch. The whole reason for my brand is to help you be the BEST version of yourself thru LOVE & INSPIRATION. That, I think, is what sets us apart from the rest.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I think everyone who has believed in me, my brand & my mission, deserves credit. They are the ones who have been my biggest cheerleaders, supporters, mentors & customers. Thankful for the advice, wisdom, tips, help & criticism I have received from them while I embark on my entrepreneurial journey. A few special shoutouts I have to mention:
First, a special shoutout to Nichole Chapais of Stargazer Creative, who has not only been a friend but a big help to me as far as marketing goes (she literally is a marketing genius) and has given me useful resources to give my brand the exposure it needs.

Another special shoutout has to go to my mom Antoinette, a total bada** graphic designer, who helps execute some of my more complex designs. Without her guidance, I would totally be lost with my visions in limbo.

And another special shoutout, most def, has to go to my husband Anthony, who has become my kicka** business & personal photographer for my website/socials/company. He has given up a lot of his limited free time to help me take pictures, set up my booth for vendor events, market my business, and help me finalize my creative designs. He is definitely my biggest shoulder to lean on.
