Check Out Josie Molasky’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josie Molasky.

Hi Josie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been passionate about music my entire life. At a young age, I was interested in singing, musical theater, piano, violin, and guitar. According to my family, I began writing my own songs at around five years old. These simple little songs and the support of my wonderful parents led me to take lyricism and music composition more seriously when I graduated college and set out in pursuit of my dream to become a musical artist. In 2019, I met my partner, Tommy Ghirardini, who is a producer, guitarist, and bassist. Our instant connection was unique and he inspired a new piece of my creative vision. We formed an alternative pop duo called “Good Rzn ” and released our first song in 2021. Moving to West Hollywood in 2022 has opened our eyes to new live entertainment venues and creative communities. This year we focused on releasing a catalog of original music under “Good Rzn” that we are proud to call our best work yet.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My artistic journey has been full of ups and downs. In order to be honest and authentic in songwriting, I have had to dive deep into understanding my personal experiences. Living in a new city and navigating a new industry has been challenging but has already proven to be rewarding as the opportunity to write, record, and play my original music is a dream come true in itself.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist in a genre-blending space, I’ve found the intersection of electronic and rock influence to open up a world of possibilities. Elements of different types of music have found their way into my songwriting which has become an intricate framework of artistic appreciation. Growing up in Las Vegas with a family history of musicians has made this path very special. My grandfather was on the road with his band in the 1950s and my mother was on the road with her band in the 1980s. Following their lead and being a musician in my twenties has felt like something I was destined to do.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories takes me back to the days when my brother and I would listen to my mom sing while my dad played his acoustic guitar on our annual camping trip. Their music taste consisted of classic rock artists that they had been listening to for years. I would always ask them to follow up with a song that I could join in on and we would have our own family concert around the campfire.
