Hi HeartBreakKris (HBK), so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started making music in 2020 during covid, I began having some consistency in 2022 which is where I managed to receive a Lil Tjay co-sign on TikTok on my track ‘Como Te Llamas after remixing his song ‘In My Head’, the track now has over 150,000 streams. Since then I continued to drop singles. In 2023 I dropped Chrome Hearts and Dollar Signs, and in 2024 dropped ‘Fast Life’ shortly before dropping my EP ‘ Everything K’ which is now sitting at 200,000 streams within its first 6 weeks of releasing. Also received a co-sign from Polo G showing him my track ‘ Fast Life’ with the reel hitting over 140k views on instagram
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yeah there’s been hella obstacles, whilst doing music I’ve been finishing out my degrees both bachelor’s and master’s and for a few years was doing college soccer too so was difficult finding time for music and making it a priority. There also the days where you don’t feel motivated and can get disappointed that you don’t feel your being rewarded for your efforts but I’ve been working on that and tryna stay positive and know that with time things will work out.

I’m proud of my recent 5 track EP ‘ Everything K’, the fact I’ve managed to do all of this so far, completely independent and with no management whilst putting out industry standard music. At nearly 200,000 streams since release, and hoping to hit a quarter million soon!
What’s next?
Honestly just keep recording, trying a few new sounds, just the same thing I’ve been doing.
