Check Out Gaby Torelli’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gaby Torelli.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started The Social Gab out of pure passion for content creation and brand elevation. What began as creating fun, personal travel videos evolved over time into the Social Media Marketing business I have today. I moved to Southern California in 2020, just as the pandemic hit and the world stopped. I had just graduated from the University of Colorado, uncertain about what the future would look like with everything so uncertain.

I took a leap and applied for an internship at a creative agency. That opportunity really ignited my ambition and made me realize that content creation was what I truly wanted to pursue full-time. After two incredible years with them, I decided to go solo, offering my services as a freelancer. What started as just a few clients quickly snowballed into a full-fledged business with a waitlist!

To this day, I’ve yet to spend a dime on any self-marketing. Every client I’ve worked with has come from networking, word of mouth, and referrals from my amazing clients and those who have worked with me in the past. I’m honored that my business has been built on delivering great work and building relationships.

Looking back, it’s incredible to see how something so personal and fun grew into a career I love. What started as a hobby turned into an opportunity to help others bring their vision to life, and now it’s a thriving business that I’m so proud of.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t say the road has been rough, but it definitely hasn’t been without challenges. Being completely self-taught meant I had to learn everything as I went from filming and editing to running a business and managing clients. I work around the clock (kind of ironic I didn’t want the traditional 9–5 life, just so I can now work 24/7), but I love every minute of it.

There were plenty of long nights spent editing, big investment in better gear, and even teaching myself how to fly a drone — which may or may not have resulted in a crash or two along the way. But every bit of trial and error has been worth it. Seeing a client’s vision come to life and knowing I helped create something they love makes all the hard work more than worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I run The Social Gab, specializing in content creation, event coverage, and social media marketing. I’m proud to be the go-to for creative direction in our ever-changing digital world, helping brands tell their stories through intentional, visually-driven content.

I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built through my work. Every project feels personal because I’m involved in every step, from the creative ideas and shot lists to the directing, filming, and final delivery. You’re not dealing with an agency or a rotating team you’ll never meet; it’s me behind the camera, me in the edit, and me making sure your vision comes to life exactly how you imagined it.

What sets me apart is the level of care and connection I bring to each project. I truly see every brand as an extension of its people and when you work with me, your story becomes my story too. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to create content that not only looks beautiful but feels authentic and moves people to remember you.

How do you define success?
Success to me is simple, it’s doing what you love, creating impact, and feeling proud of the work you put into the world! They say if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life and that’s exactly the life I’m grateful to live today!
