Today we’d like to introduce you to Faym Official.
Hi Faym, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My original name is Favour Agboma Yuma Michael which interprets to FAYM, I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria to a loving family in a home where my parents love music, my father is a huge hip hop fan and my mother is a huge gospel fan and also in the choir at church.
I grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Don Moen, Usher, and other great artists to ever grace the stage, as I grew up I started to develop a love for dancing and singing at the same time, and over the years I practiced and then Afrobeats came along and I was in Nigeria when it started so I combined the musical idea and elements I already knew with the new aftobeats sound that was coming up and that’s the sound you hear from Faym Official today, thank you for the opportunity to share this story.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been smooth and I don’t think it ever will be , music is a spiritual feeling that comes and goes and it does not always come sweet, sometimes it comes from a very sad place , and especially being an independent artist, the tide gets wavy sometimes but by the Grace of God I keep moving .
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a singer, songwriter and dancer, and I think what sets me apart from others is my ambition and believe in my self to always go further.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The most important characteristic important in my success is my “Character and How I carry myself” most importantly my confidence and believe in my sound and what I am bringing to the table
