Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamante Murru.
Diamante, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Diamante Murru. I’m a multidisciplinary artist from Sardinia, now based in Los Angeles. I’ve been creating Art since I was very little, it’s always been my way of understanding the world and expressing who I am.
Over the years, tattooing became one of my main mediums, and it’s taken me all over the world. Through my travels, I’ve had the chance to grow as both an artist and a human, always seeking meaningful connections and inspiration.
My work is deeply rooted in sustainability, I’ve dedicated my life not only to art but also to finding ways to create that respect the Earth and future generations.
I’ve been tattooing for over a decade now, and in the past five years, I’ve dedicated a lot of energy to building my sustainable fashion label, Minimal.Ethic, as well as developing a line of plastic-free tattoo supplies.
Both projects were born from a desire to merge my creative work with my commitment to protecting the planet and reshaping how we produce and consume in the art and tattoo industries.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I started, tattooing was even more of a male-dominated industry than it is today, and making it as a woman artist came with a lot of challenges. I had to work twice as hard to be taken seriously, and there were times it felt like I was constantly pushing against walls.
But I’ve always been extremely stubborn and determined. Even if it meant living off instant coffee just to avoid taking an ordinary job, I was always willing to sacrifice comfort to dedicate all my time and energy to Art. In the end, it paid off. That same determination is what still keeps me going, no matter how challenging the path gets.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a multidisciplinary artist, tattooing is a big part of what I do, but it’s only one of the ways I express myself.
I work across different mediums including painting, illustration, textile design, and sustainable fashion. I’m known mostly for my large-scale ornamental tattoos, which are often inspired by sacred geometry, natural forms, and ancient symbolism. I’ve been tattooing for over a decade now, and I’ve had the honor of working with people from all over the world.
What I do is very personal, it’s about creating meaningful pieces that people carry on their skin for life, reflective their identity.
In the past few years, I’ve also poured a lot of love into two projects I’m really proud of: my sustainable fashion label, Minimal.Ethic, and my line of plastic-free tattoo supplies. These were born from the desire to align my creative work with my values, respect for the earth, ethical production, and conscious consumption.
What sets me apart, I think, is the way I merge artistic depth with environmental and spiritual consciousness. Everything I create comes from a place of intention. Whether I’m tattooing, designing clothing, or drawing, it’s all part of a bigger vision: to inspire, to connect, and to create beauty in a more mindful way.
I like to reinvent and challenge myself to grow in every piece I design.
How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t just about recognition or achievements, it’s about independence, freedom, and being genuinely happy with what I do. It means being able to live from my Art, staying true to my values, and still waking up every day feeling inspired, and hopefully inspiring others along the way.
I see success in the ability to keep growing, to stay open to learning, and to evolve both as an artist and as a human.
Most of all, success for me is about creating a positive impact, whether it’s through a piece of Art, a conversation, or a more sustainable way of doing things. If I can contribute to meaningful change, even in small ways, then I feel I’m on the right path.
