Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Imani
Hi Destiny, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been surrounded by music since birth; growing up in the church allowed me to develop a strong attachment to Gospel music early in my life. As I got older and began to expand my musical taste, I found many additional genres of music that I gravitated towards. In my late teens, I began songwriting often and I was fortunate enough to further my musical education at 1500 Sound Academy where I learned about musical production, engineering, music business, and many other vital parts of the music industry. Now, I continue to create as a songwriter and artist with hopes of sharing my music with the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I personally believe that with any journey there are bumps in the road, so no, it has not been the smoothest road; however, I wouldn’t trade my journey for anything. Some of the struggles that I have faced personally include lack of resources, limited networking opportunities, and just the struggle that comes with pursuing anything. I would say that with time many of my struggles have been reduced because as I have been learning along the way, and I no longer make the same mistakes that I did when I first started in the industry.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a musical artist and songwriter. I believe that my ability to craft melodies and tell stories separates me from others. I first began as a songwriter, and I personally believe songwriting is my true calling. I like to help others craft their own songs and feel confident and proud of the final product. Now, I am most proud of the fact that I have my own publishing company to be able to write, place, and sync songs with artists, libraries, and various music companies. I hope that in the near future, I am able to further expand my reach as a songwriter and share my music with all who will listen.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
