Today we’d like to introduce you to Carli Glubok.
Hi Carli, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I am born and raised from Los Angeles, California. I am twenty-six years old and currently living in Santa Monica. Some of my favorite things are hiking, yoga, pilates, art, and modeling. I have been modeling for about ten years now. I love it because it makes my heart happy, and I get to enjoy making new friends and connections on set!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It wasn’t always smooth sailing… In 2017, I was diagnosed with “Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.” While facing life’s challenges at the time I decided that I wanted to model throughout the entirety of my treatment and rock my bald head at the same time. My recovery took six months to a year to fully get back on track again. Thankfully, I have been cancer-free and in remission for six years now. During this exact year, I had also faced a deadly car accident while I fell asleep on the road. It was terrifying, but I believe that I truly made it through these obstacles with beauty and grace.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been told that I have a skill in making people feel good about themselves. It is not something I do on purpose but more of a natural part of my being. I know when I walk into a room on set that we are all going to have a good time! I am known for my good heart and my modeling work.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the modeling industry as forever and always changing. I think one day something can be cool and the next it is not. I think that is what makes fashion so exciting because it is never the same, always different. I know that modeling can be discouraging for many people, but I know staying focused, working hard and staying true to yourself will give you success in this business.
