Check Out Brooke Gross’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Gross.

Brooke, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I went into esthetics because I enjoy helping people, and I have always been passionate about skincare, health, and beauty. I started my career with Facialworks and have learned so much there. I have been able to work closely with the founder, Meghan, who has taught me so much about the esthetics industry as well as what it takes to run a successful business. I started as an esthetician with Facialworks and worked my way up. I am someone who is always looking to learn more and grow and I have been given the opportunity to do that with Facialworks. I love to learn, and I love to share and teach others. I think this love is what has lead me to my role now as Director of Training & Education for Facialworks. In this role, I am able to build our education and training program to help new and experienced estheticians grow and become successful… This is what keeps me engaged and excited in this field as it is always evolving. My passion for health and wellness has lead me to energy work and I recently became a certified Usui Reiki Practitioner. I am excited about how I can possibly incorporate this into esthetics. I have been privately taking clients for this as well. I’ve also been creating holistic, healthy desserts that are not only good for your skin and health but taste yummy too! I love everything wellness and I feel so lucky to be able to follow my passion into different areas of wellness.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
All of the struggles along the way have made me become a better person. As a company, of course, we have had struggles as any company does when they’re new and growing. Personally, any struggle I have had to overcome has made me reflect and learn how I could’ve done better or differently and move on. I have gone from esthetician to management to now a corporate role. Those progressions have challenges as anyone who has moved up a ladder may know. Throughout, I have tried to stay true to who I am and be honest with myself. Luckily, I have had people who have supported me along the way, without whom I probably wouldn’t have made it this far.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an esthetician who specializes in anti-aging treatments. I am passionate about how the skin works on a physiological level how ingredients work in the skin to create change. I love learning new massage techniques and Gua Sha. I think my attention to detail and ability to listen to what my client wants and provide that to them is something that sets me apart. I am also really proud to be able to say that I contributed to Facialworks growth over the years and help create something special.

I have recently become a Reiki Master practitioner, and I believe my openness to sharing healing energy with everyone around me has made a positive impact on my life since I have started practicing. My passion for food and wellness has also lead me to create some delicious desserts that are good for you too! I am most proud of being able to do something I truly love and care about every single day.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I would say it was good luck to have a friend from esthetics school refer me to apply at Facialworks. Every “lucky” opportunity that presented itself, I have purposely taken advantage of whether in life or business. Bad luck has usually always lead to the good luck, so I don’t really believe in bad luck.
