Check Out Alice & Clark’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alice & Clark.

Alice & Clark

Hi Alice & Clark, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi there! We’re Alice and Clark Campbell, better known as “That High Couple,” and we’re delighted to share our journey with you online. Living in the sunshine and smoke-filled city of Los Angeles, California, we’ve carved out a unique niche as cannabis ambassadors and content creators. Our adventure together began shortly after we moved to Los Angeles from San Diego and Atlanta over 10 years ago.

We initially connected on OkCupid, bonded over our mutual appreciation for cannabis, and eventually got married in December 2018. Launching our YouTube channel, “That High Couple,” in January 2016, we’ve since cultivated a vibrant community around our passion for cannabis. Our channel, with over 160,000 high friends, and our Instagram account with over 31,000 followers, showcase our natural chemistry and enthusiasm for all things weed. We’ve become known for our energetic banter and relatable, couple-at-cocktail-party vibe. Whether it’s test-driving THC-infused pizzas or showcasing our cannabis-themed couples’ costumes, we love to bring fun, authenticity, and approachability to our content.

From embarking on unique cannabis-related adventures to sharing practical tutorials, we aim to pique the curiosity of cannabis consumers and enthusiasts alike.

Being a part of the cannabis community means more to us than just sharing our experiences; it’s about breaking stereotypes and responsibly enjoying cannabis. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our journey and insights, hoping to inspire others who share our passion.

So, join us as we vlog our way through product reviews, tutorials, challenges, and events, all while redefining the stoner stereotype and celebrating the cannabis lifestyle!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Navigating the world of cannabis content creation has been a journey filled with both excitement and obstacles. Despite being based in California, where our content is completely legal, we’ve faced significant challenges with social media platforms. It’s been a tricky path, as these platforms often have ambiguous policies when it comes to cannabis-related content.

One of the most frustrating issues we’ve encountered is having our videos deleted without much explanation. It’s disheartening, especially considering the time and effort we put into creating content that we believe is informative, responsible, and engaging. This kind of setback isn’t just about losing a video; it’s about losing a piece of the connection we’ve built with our audience.

Moreover, we’ve experienced what’s known as shadow banning. It’s a situation where our content, or even our entire pages, are restricted in a way that makes them less visible or discoverable by new audiences. This kind of censorship is particularly perplexing and disheartening, especially when we see a plethora of content showcasing alcohol without facing the same kind of scrutiny.

It’s a little crazy, to be honest. The disparity in how different adult substances are treated on social media platforms is quite evident. Our goal has always been to promote a responsible and enjoyable cannabis lifestyle, similar to how many influencers showcase the world of spirits and cocktails. Yet, the digital landscape seems to apply a different set of rules to cannabis.

These obstacles, however, haven’t dampened our spirits – pun intended. They’ve only made us more determined to continue our mission of redefining the stoner stereotype and showing the positive, creative, and responsible side of cannabis culture. We believe in our content and the message we’re trying to convey, and we’ll continue to navigate these challenges with the same enthusiasm and authenticity that our followers love.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re thrilled to dive into the heart of what we do as That High Couple. Our work on YouTube and Instagram revolves around our passion for cannabis, but it’s so much more than that. We see ourselves as storytellers, educators, and a bridge connecting cannabis culture with the curious and the experienced alike.

On our YouTube channel, we focus on creating diverse content that ranges from product reviews to tutorials, and even includes some fun challenges. We love to explore new cannabis products and share our honest opinions with our audience. It’s not just about the consumption of cannabis; it’s about understanding the product, its quality, and how it fits into a responsible lifestyle.

Our tutorials are particularly close to our hearts. We believe in educating our audience about safe and enjoyable cannabis use. Whether it’s showing how to use a new vaporizer or explaining the intricacies of different cannabis strains, we aim to be a reliable source of information.

Challenges and event coverage add a fun twist to our channel. We’ve done everything from testing how it feels to consume cannabis every hour for 24 hours to decorating a gingerbread house with THC edibles. We also attend and vlog about various cannabis-related events, giving our audience an insider’s look into the evolving world of cannabis.

Instagram, on the other hand, is where we showcase the aesthetic and lifestyle aspects of our cannabis journey. It’s filled with snapshots of our daily life, behind-the-scenes looks at our video shoots, and moments from our travels. We love connecting with our followers on a more personal level through daily Instagram stories and engaging posts.

Our content is designed to be relatable and approachable, reflecting our genuine experiences and learnings. We strive to build a community where everyone feels welcome, whether they are cannabis enthusiasts or just curious about the lifestyle.

Every piece of content we create is infused with our love for cannabis, our commitment to breaking stereotypes, and our desire to share a positive, creative, and responsible perspective on cannabis culture. We’re not just content creators; we’re part of a growing community that’s reshaping the way the world sees cannabis.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Always happy to share our advice for those just starting out in the content creation world, particularly in the cannabis space.

Firstly, finding your niche is crucial. It’s important to pick a subject you’re passionate about, something that excites you every day. For us, it’s been cannabis, but for you, it could be anything that resonates with your interests and values. When you talk about something you love, your authenticity shines through, and that’s what really connects with an audience.

Once you’ve honed in on your niche, the key is consistency. Start creating content and keep at it. It’s natural to feel like your early work isn’t perfect, but remember, every content creator starts somewhere. The most important thing is to begin, publish your work, and learn as you go. Your skills, confidence, and audience will grow with each piece of content you create.

Remember, the numbers and quality of your work will improve over time. It’s all about perseverance and learning from the process. Don’t be too hard on yourself if growth seems slow or if the quality isn’t where you want it to be immediately. Every content creator goes through a learning curve, and it’s the journey that shapes your unique voice and style.

Finally, engage with your community. Listen to your audience, respond to their comments, and understand what they enjoy about your content. This feedback is invaluable as you continue to evolve and refine your content strategy.

So, to sum it up: find your passion, be consistent, don’t be afraid to start, and engage with your community. Your unique voice is what will set you apart in the world of online content. Happy creating!
