Check Out Meché Evonne’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meché Evonne.

Hi Meché, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m also known as Mechéla Evonne Cobb from Columbus, Ohio. The change in my name comes from the change of my path and my direction for my life. I grew up as an athlete and believed that basketball was the only path I had to having a successful life. I had always wanted to be a model and pursue my career in fashion and art. But never felt like it was possible because I was always told it wasn’t.

So after my second year of college, I walked away from it all. I moved across the country to work on myself and be the person I always knew I was. Which is a strong independent individual, grinding for my work. Which is only my way of giving my perspective on the world and its beauty. That’s what I believe I was placed on this earth to do.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For me, my biggest obstacle will always be myself. I’m the only thing that has power to stop me from doing what I want to do. So once I established that fact, I stepped out of my own way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a model, and I’m more known for that. But I am a creative first. Modeling has been my bread and butter. But I want to be known for designs and pieces. Not only do I design and sew custom clothing, I also paint, creative direct, and style. My girlfriend and I have a brand called Goody Studios, where we are building an all in one creative house. You can get Goody apparel and lifestyle products but also get custom clothing and shoes through submission.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Only you know what you were meant to do here on this earth. Don’t let anyone else’s fear, opinion, or doubt stop you from finding and pursuing your purpose.
