Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Boyd.

Hi Lindsey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started CYD Photobooth this year in the midst of the pandemic. I was getting ready to graduate in May 2013 when I needed an internship. I found an internship with an event company in Tustin, CA and front here my love of events flourished. I started my own Wedding Planning Company in 2014, Circle Your Date.

I realized I wanted to open a 2nd business and CYD Photobooth was born. My husband and I had talked about opening a photobooth company for years and everything just fell into place.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road – more bumpy. I started my Wedding Planning company in 2014 and everything was doing well. My husband and I got married in 2014 and since then have had two beautiful sons. During this time, I took a bit of break from work to be home with my babies and now trying to get back into the events industry has been very difficult- even more so with the pandemic. Couples getting married already have their planner and Photobooth’s so being the only one available has been a challenge when no one is in need of my services for the next year.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My company Circle Your Date is a Wedding & Event Planning company with our sister company CYD Photobooth. We specialize in weddings but love planning anything from birthdays and showers to anniversary and retirement parties. This year, I’m most proud of the opening of CYD Photobooth. What sets us apart is the design of our open air, all digital photobooth. It’s sleek, modern and fits with any theme, event or venue. Our template designs are customizable but what I love is how we can customize more elements of the booth. We can customize the “Tap to Start” screen, the background, and our booth offers not only photos but videos, GIFS and Boomerangs.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
An important lesson we’ve learned is adaptation. Being in the events industry, we’re always ready with a Plan B on event day. Things are constantly changing in our industry and we have to always be ready. With COVID, it was more difficult because venues were shutting down and clients were having to reschedule their events, some multiple times. My companies have become COVID compliant and will continue to follow these protocols for the safety of our guests and staff.
