Today we’d like to introduce you to btwn.
Please kick things off for us with some background on the story.
Zack is originally from LA and Joe is from Charlotte, NC, separately we both started by playing in bands and playing shows. As a result of that we got into songwriting and from there production. Joe moved out here five years ago and we started making music together about three years ago, after a chance meeting at Angry Mob Music. After we met, we started doing sessions together and eventually, we decided to turn it into a full-time production/writing duo.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We would say any time you get into a creative industry, it always has its ups and downs. We’ve been lucky to have steady rise each year but not without its hardships. The easiest thing about it is that we can do it together which we feel very fortunate for.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are primarily music producers and songwriters, mostly doing the production portion of the process. We’ve had a ton of songs that we are extremely proud of but I think we are most proud that we can call this our full-time job and wake up everyday and make music with our friends. What sets us apart is we bring a hip hop influence to pop music. Specifically in our low-end choices, arrangement style and melodies.
Any big plans?
Our plans for the future are to continue to work on better and bigger projects and have fun making music together! If you’re not having fun doing it then what’s the point right!? We’re always looking forward to working with and discovering new artists we can get into the studio with.
