An Inspired Chat with Ryan M. Luevano of Hollywood

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ryan M. Luevano. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Ryan M., thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m always riding a delicate balance between the two. I walk my path to embrace purpose, to navigate with intention, and to pursue our goals with clarity. It is the steady rhythm of footsteps on a well-trodden road, where each stride brings me closer to my aspirations. This focused journey cultivates discipline and resilience.
Yet, there is profound beauty in the act of wandering. It is in the moments of unstructured exploration that I often discover the most about myself and the world around me. Wandering invites spontaneity, igniting my curiosity and opening my heart to the unexpected. It is a dance with the unknown, a gentle reminder that life is not solely about destination but also about the richness of experience along the way.
In embracing both the path and the wander, I find a harmonious interplay between structure and freedom. The path provides me with direction, while wandering gifts me with the serendipity of discovery. It is in this duality that I can cultivate a life that is both meaningful and vibrant.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a talent manager at Skyfire Artists and a passionate storyteller. I find myself at the intersection of creativity and ambition, where the magic of art meets the drive to inspire. At Skyfire Artists, our mission is to nurture talent, guiding everyone on their path to success while igniting their creative spark. Our motto, “Inspire. Ignite. Boom,” encapsulates our commitment to fostering an environment where artists can flourish.

When I’m not championing the careers of my clients, I immerse myself in the world of storytelling as a writer for the stage and the screen. I aim to weave narratives that captivate and provoke thought. My work in film often delves into the thriller and horror spaces. These screenplays range from a horror comedy featuring a neighborhood besieged by killer peacocks to a contemporary thriller that explores the perils of fame in the music industry.
In the realm of theatre, my creativity knows no bounds. I’ve penned a futuristic play about twelve girls navigating a dance plague a century from now, alongside a poignant piece inspired by my grandparents that illustrates how a broken washing machine mended a fractured marriage. These diverse narratives are not just stories; they are explorations of the human experience, each crafted with care and intention.

At the heart of my work is a dedication to helping others tell their stories while simultaneously sharing my own. I believe that every narrative, no matter how fantastical or grounded, has the potential to resonate deeply with audiences. As I continue to navigate this vibrant landscape of art and storytelling, I remain committed to fostering a community where creativity thrives and voices are amplified.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I have no interest in feeling powerful. The quest for power can be perilous. Nevertheless, there is one memory that stands out to me; it may not be the very first, but it’s the one that immediately comes to mind.
I remember standing before an orchestra (I used to be a conductor), baton in hand, heart racing with anticipation. It was that fleeting moment, suspended in time, just before I started a piece, the moment between my breath and my baton coming down to call forth the music. In that instant, I felt a buzz of energy coursing through me, a surge of responsibility and possibility. The air was thick with expectation, and I could almost hear the whispers of the Gods of music, urging me to bring forth their magic.
Yet, as exhilarating as that moment was, I’ve come to realize that true power lies not in holding onto it, but in the grace of letting it flow. These days, I find solace in relinquishing that power, much like a dog shaking off water after a swim. I’ve learned that the most profound strength comes from collaboration, from harmonizing with others rather than standing alone at the helm.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could whisper a kind word to my younger self, it would be this: Breathe and savor the journey. In a world that often glorifies hustle and productivity, I was caught in a relentless race, always yearning for the next milestone, the next achievement. I thought that success was a destination, a finish line to cross, but in my haste, I overlooked the beauty of the present moment.
Dear younger me, it’s okay to take your time. Embrace the process, for it is in the winding paths and the unexpected detours that you will discover your true self. Each step, no matter how small, is a vital part of your story. Remember, you are not defined by your output or your accomplishments; your worth is inherent, simply because you exist.
Let curiosity be your compass and joy your fuel. Explore, play, and allow yourself to rest without guilt. Exhaustion isn’t proof you’re dedicated. And sleepless nights aren’t the price of success. Rest is not a sign of weakness; it is a powerful strategy that will replenish your spirit and ignite your creativity. So, dance in the rain of uncertainty, laugh at the missteps, and cherish the moments of stillness.
You are more than your work, and the world is waiting to see the magic that unfolds when you allow yourself to simply be. So, dear one, take a deep breath, and remember: take care of yourself first, and everything else will follow.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
A gentle, “Yes,” and a resounding, “No”. Allow me to elaborate.
Everything I share with the world is undeniably authentic; it reflects my thoughts, my passions, and my experiences. Yet, it is merely a glimpse of my identity. Beneath the surface lies a deeper, more complex individual, one that the public rarely gets to see. If you look closely, however, you might catch glimmers of this hidden self in the nuances of my words, the subtleties of my expressions, and the stories I choose to share publicly.

But here’s where it gets interesting: my public persona is often subject to, let’s call it “wild” interpretations. People tend to project their own assumptions onto me, crafting an image that never aligns with who I truly am. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve encountered individuals who, upon meeting me, have expressed surprise at my demeanor. They often come with preconceived notions, viewing me as a tyrant or a hard ass, only to find that I am, in fact, quite the opposite. When I gently challenge their assumptions, asking, “Is that something I ever said?” the realization dawns on them, I am not the person they imagined in their mind. And “Poof!” I burst their bubble.
This experience serves as a poignant reminder that the public version of anyone is just a piece of the puzzle. It’s essential to approach these representations with a grain of salt and to take the time to explore the full picture before forming an opinion.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope my passion for life resonates in every interaction I had and every moment I shared. I want people to remember me as someone who embraced the world with open arms, who sought out the beauty in the mundane and the extraordinary alike. I envision a narrative where my journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of joy, where I carved my own path through the wilderness of existence, leaving behind footprints of art, laughter, and love.
I want my family and friends to recount tales of my unwavering support, the times I stood by them in their darkest hours, and the moments we celebrated together, filled with warmth and connection. I hope they remember the way I listened, truly listened, with an open heart, offering solace and understanding when they needed it most. I also want people to know that I was a lover who knew love for which men have died for and not known.
I want them to share anecdotes of our escapades. Whether it was an adventure to an exotic destination, a romp on the dance floor, or a simple picnic under the stars. Each story should reflect the joy of living in the moment, the thrill of discovery, and the laughter that echoes long after I’m gone. I hope they recount the silly moments that made us laugh until we cried, the heartfelt conversations that lingered long after the sun had set, and the quiet acts of kindness that often went unnoticed.
Notice how I haven’t mentioned my work; that’s because no matter how significant a person’s work is, and the end of the day, the epitaphs that are carved on a person’s tombstone are always something like, “He was a beautiful soul”, or “Beloved husband, brother, and friend.” I’m not sure what my epitaph will say, but I know what it will not say: “He worked himself to death and wrote lots of successful scripts.” I want to be remembered not for accolades or achievements, but for the impact I had on the hearts of those around me. I want my legacy to be one of love, laughter, and a profound appreciation for the human experience.
