We recently had the chance to connect with Rey Baca and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Rey, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I have really been enjoying trying new hobbies! I just finished a breadmaking class and it was very fun to create using my hands and even more exciting to get to taste the bread after it was done baking!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Rey, the creator behind @explorREYtion, a lifestyle and travel platform where I share fun, inspiring moments that blend creativity, exploration, and self-expression. What started as a passion for discovering new places has evolved into a space that celebrates both adventure and everyday living — from unique destinations to wellness, style, and experiences that inspire balance and joy.
What I hope others see when they come to my channels is that exploration isn’t just about where you go, but how you live, create, and grow along the way. Right now, I’m expanding my content into more lifestyle and event coverage, capturing how people experience travel, culture, and community in real life.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
This would probably date back to when I was about 6 years old… I was a crybaby, mama’s girl! I loved going to museums and creating – still true for me! I loved being with my friends and making new ones. I am trying to return back to her, my “reyreybac” era.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I think the fear of embarrassment or even people’s perceptions of me hold me back a lot. I am trying to let that go, and just focus being the best version of myself with every decision, interaction and how I show up each day!
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! I like to show up as authentically on my social channels as I would in-person. Sometimes I can be a little low energy, which I don’t show much of online but that’s because it would be boring to watch >.<
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
When you’re in a slump, depressed, or going through a time period in your life you really do have to take life DAY BY DAY. It can be so challenging to show up, but when you continue to strive forward you can look back and be proud of how far you’ve come even if it just means you survived another day. Things will always get better.
