We recently had the chance to connect with Lynette Haugen and have shared our conversation below.
Lynette, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
If my customers have a question, I speak with them personally. That is what sets us apart from our competitors: I am surprised they appreciate old-fashioned customer service.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We are locally famous, partially due to our vintage pink Volvo company cars. You can’t miss them! We believe that every customer is the most important customer. They know they can expect more than just a good cleaning; our customers will get personalized service from start to finish.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I was 11 or 12 years old, going door to door in my neighborhood, selling crafts that I made at home. I knew then I wanted to own my own business.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Every business owner has bad days, but knowing my customers and employees count on me keeps me going.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
My customers provide valuable feedback. Listening to customers is the key to success.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope to be remembered as someone who genuinely cared for others and was always there to lend a helping hand.
