We’re looking forward to introducing you to Leah Avigdori. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Leah, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Who are you learning from right now?
Life in general is my greatest teacher. My children constantly teach me patience, presence, and unconditional love, always mirroring back the parts of me that still need gentleness. My clients are my biggest fans and always give me so much love and trust and that teaches me to trust myself. To know that I’m on the right path and that I have a purpose within this industry.
I also draw wisdom from spiritual teachers like Neville Goddard, Abraham Hicks, Carl Jung and Dr. Joe Dispenza. They remind me that everything begins in consciousness. That our thoughts create our reality. Their teachings remind me that when I change my inner world, everything around and outside of me begins to shift.
But the biggest teacher in the last two years for me has been heartbreak and loss. It cracks you open in ways no teacher ever could. Those moments have shown me how to surrender, to go to those painful places and fully feel them, and to find beauty in transformation. I’ve learned that true transformation doesn’t come without pain or suffering unfortunately. But these painful experiences have been my greatest gift. They’ve shown me where I was stuck, repressed, lost. Cliche, but they have helped me find myself and become more self aware and expand. Shown me what I’m capable of and my strength. Loss doesn’t break you, it breaks you open allowing more light in. Heartbreak became the doorway back to myself. Into deeper understanding, self love, freedom and truth.
So, I guess I’d say my teachers are everywhere, in my children, my work, my pain, and my prayers. Life keeps showing me that every experience, pleasant or painful, is guiding me closer to who I really am.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a holistic esthetician and acne specialist. I’ve been practicing since the mid-nineties, and over the years, my work has become a reflection of everything I believe about healing, and that true, long term beauty begins within.
I take a holistic approach to skincare, and I especially love supporting clients who are struggling with acne by working to identify internal root causes. My facials are deeply intentional. They are not only designed to treat and repair the skin, but to calm the nervous system. I believe that when the body is in a balanced state, the skin will naturally radiate out a healthy complexion and glow.
I work to infuse each session with love and energy; it’s a true exchange that I hope my clients can feel the moment they step into my space.
Right now, I’m developing both in-person and online facial massage trainings for estheticians who want to bring more intention, energy, and emotional intelligence into their practice. My hope is to help reawaken the sacred side of skincare, where beauty, healing, and consciousness meet.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Dishonesty.
True remorse and change of behavior over a significant amount of time.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You already have everything you need inside you. You are powerful and capable. Trust yourself. Your intuition is divine guidance speaking through you.
You have direct access to God, to love, to truth without rules or religion. You don’t need anyone or anything outside of you to connect to that power. You are guided, supported, and never alone.
Never search for your worth in other people. Know you are whole, sacred, and enough exactly as you are.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the skincare industry is that quick fixes and endless products will give you lasting results. We live in a society obsessed with instant gratification. Everyone wants to look “glass skin” perfect overnight. But that look isn’t real or sustainable; it’s often just inflammation disguised as glow. Society has become so used to filters and editing that many people don’t even know what real skin looks like anymore.
Social media and TikTok trends feed that illusion. Pushing harsh actives, over-exfoliating, and mixing too many products. These fads promise transformation but usually end up weakening the skin barrier and disconnecting people from what their skin actually needs.
True beauty isn’t found in the next trend or filter. It’s created by slowing down, calming the nervous system, and nurturing the body and mind so the skin can find its natural rhythm again. Real skin has texture, movement, and energy and that’s what makes it beautiful.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had ten years left, I’d stop worrying about money, my wrinkles, and all the little things that steal peace.
I’d spend more time being present. Laughing with my boys, traveling, dancing, being in nature, and creating for the joy of it. I’d let go of pressure and just live softer.
