An Inspired Chat with Christine Reed of Beverly Hills, El Segundo

Christine Reed shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Christine, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I usually like to wake up around 5 AM and start with a 15 minute meditation in my massage chair this aligns my spine and keeps my body in great shape for performing services during the day. I usually listen to either a gratitude, meditation or something that is dear to my heart at the time. I then head into the gym for a 30 minutes weight training session. I then will either go for a hike or a sauna depending on my schedule that day if I don’t have a lot of time, I will prepare for clients and head out. Some of my clients are as early as 6 AM so it really depends on the day as to what I can accomplish beforehand

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m happy to introduce myself and share my world of beauty and wellness. My name is Christine Reed and I am the owner of Platinum Image Services (your onsite beauty concierge) and ChristineReedLa (your private beauty makeover location with photo studio). I believe in nurturing beauty from the inside out. I am dedicated to empowering clients on their journey to self-care and rejuvenation. I focus not on just surface beauty, but on cultivating overall well-being I create well tailored solutions for each person whether it be for hair loss, weight loss, or the latest skincare routine. One of the highlights of working with me is that over the years you can learn better ways to take care of yourself feel beautiful and showcase your authentic self. Currently, I am excited to share I’ve been diving into the fascinating world of antiaging with peptides which are powerful compounds that can promote skin care, boost, collagen, production, and enhance overall skin elasticity, what makes my approach truly unique that I work with doctors and scientist’s and have create an environment where my client feels supported and inspired.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
When I was a little girl, my mother always thought it was really important during the summer for us to give time and volunteer at nursing homes. This has instilled an incredible amount of compassion for others and taught me that just because someone is older does not mean they should be discarded. Most of my clients are older individuals that are looking to feel and look young unlike Europe I feel like in America. We tend to disregard people once they have reached a certain age. My journey is to make people feel empowered no matter what age they are or what background they are from.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
The time I remember most was when I had four employees and I had to shop on Melros. I was about 30 years old. I had installed cameras at my location. I was very young and super excited to have amazing people working with me. I loved my employees I wanted nothing more than to have great relationships with them. One day, as I was watching on the camera, I noticed two employees telling my personal clients personal stories about me. I was mortified. Even one of the employees was staying with me at the time and I had gone out of my way to make sure they were always paid and happy That day. I wanted to give up on my career. I didn’t think I could do what I wanted to do without having other people working for me I had to fire everyone and start over and I learned that pretty much a lot of people will say things about you and you can’t let it bother you. You have to let what other people say. Roll off your back. It’s their own issues and has nothing to do with you. It was a very hard lesson to learn and over the years each employee actually called and apologized.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Maggie Barry she is a fashion designer, and a super humble person. She works like me with many high end celebrities and caters to the elite but does not brag about it. She has shown me the keeping her mouth shut. Most of the time is better than living in your ego. She works with a lot of people that are very difficult and continues her journey without missing a beat. I wish I could be more like her in a lot of ways. She has a position of power, but she never takes advantage of others. Always continues to treat people well even when they don’t deserve it. She also holds to her standards and is so good at her what she does but never brags about it.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope most people will know that I lived with integrity and compassion for others. I believe that is one of the things that is missing in today’s society and people often think that getting ahead means treating others badly. I do not believe that works I think treating everyone you meet with respect and honor is the best way to live.
