Meet Hollywood Makeup Artist: Claire Piao

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire Piao.

Claire grew up in China and became interested in makeup as a career around age 16.  Her skills and knowledge grew and quickly she realized that China would not offer her enough opportunities to express herself as an artist.  Remember this is about 15 years back when China was not as developed as it is today.  So, Claire took a big step and moved to the US – she choose Los Angeles because she wanted to be near Hollywood and work in the film and entertainment industry.  After arriving to LA, she enrolled in Cinema Makeup School and learned that to succeed she would need to build up an impressive portfolio.  So, not let the language barrier get in her way, she began contacting models and photographers asking for collaboration opportunities and slowly, step-by-step she built an impressive portfolio.  Today, Claire is on the path to being one of LA’s rising stars – but her story is full of hard work, determination and courage.
