Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabiola Miranda
Hi Fabiola, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Fabi – a Latina content creator, first-gen, and the big sister to my younger brothers. I was born here in LA but grew up in Oregon. Both of my parents immigrated from El Salvador: my dad lived in East LA, and my mom in Pico Rivera. I moved back to LA about a year ago, knowing this was always where I was meant to be.
Growing up, I visited LA often because most of my mom’s family lives in Pico Rivera and South Central, while my dad had family in Oregon. This connection to Oregon is what eventually led my parents to move there, as they struggled to make ends meet and wanted to give me a better life. My mom made the difficult choice to leave her family behind, but whenever she could even for the weekend, holidays, or spring break we’d come back to LA to visit. Every time I would visit I would let myself “one day I’ll be back” and now I’m here!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As the only daughter and the oldest child, I’ve been through a lot, and it hasn’t been easy to get where I am today. I grew up in a small trailer park in Oregon, where my brother and I shared a room until I was 14. Eventually, my parents bought a house with property, which I’m so proud of because it had always been their dream. I was the first in my family to go to college, and after graduating, I stayed at my college job for a couple of years. During that time, I felt lost, uncertain about what career path I wanted to pursue.
When the pandemic hit, I started creating content just for fun, and over time it became a passion I’ve loved growing with. I’ve had the chance to make new friends online and even meet them in person. Before moving to LA, I was still figuring out my life, and I made the difficult decision to end a 7-year relationship. My parents were initially unhappy with my choice to move, because they moved out of LA to give me a better. Which I’m grateful they did. But now they fully support me because they see the life I’m building and recognize that I’ve accomplished more in this past year than I did in the previous five. Like I said, I always knew I was meant to be back LA.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love creating lifestyle, fashion, and beauty content. Sharing my life experiences especially exploring the city and being creative with my fashion style and makeup is a true passion. I started with beauty content but have since leaned more into fashion and lifestyle. I enjoy sharing my personal experiences, attending pop-up events around the city, and connecting with the Latino community.
What sets me apart is that I’m a first-generation Salvadoran from both LA and the Pacific Northwest. Growing up in Oregon, I was often the only Salvadoran in my friend group. I’m incredibly proud of my roots, though I did face challenges with my identity. I’ve always sought community and Latino representation, and I’ve found a strong sense of both here in Los Angeles.
I also never like to settle; I’m constantly thinking ahead about what’s next and how I can become a better version of myself. I also create content with my community in mind for those aspiring to be content creators, those seeking representation, and anyone looking for relatable, authentic content.
What’s next?
My current plan for the future is to live in the moment and enjoy life. I don’t have any major plans right now, other than continuing to build connections with other creatives whether that be with artists, photographers, models, or small businesses.
