*From Passion to Empire: The Birth of Born Phamous Apparel*
As the Founder and CEO of Phamouslyfe and Born Phamous Apparel, I, Mary Leverson, have always envisioned a clothing line that not only makes customers look good but also feel empowered. The name “Phamous” embodies the qualities I believe reside within each of us: Phenomenal, Achiever, Motivated, Original, Unique, and Strong.
My entrepreneurial journey began unexpectedly, sparked by an inspiring story of an eyewear business owner during online classes. Intrigued, I experimented with Printful App, creating samples that amazed me. Before I knew it, I was hooked. This newfound passion gave me a sense of purpose, especially after feeling confined within my religious community.
However, turning Born Phamous into a reality has been a lonely, arduous battle. Despite initial skepticism from some family members, I’ve persevered, driven by determination. My brand has evolved , encompassing modeling, dance, photography, and networking.
Dance and music are my true passions, which led me to Jabari Jones, an exceptional dancer and choreographer. Our collaboration has been well with it. His talent, paired with my apparel, is breathtaking. I’m indebted to him and hope to show my gratitude beyond words.
The journey has been fraught with setbacks, including breast cancer surgeries and a devastating motel fire that destroyed over $9,000 worth of products. These challenges have often left me in dark places, questioning my abilities. Still, I remain resolute.
Today, I’m proud to announce the launch of Phamous Kings, a new brief line, and my first pop-up event scheduled for March 2025. After learning from past experiences, I’ve come to realize that my success depends on my own unwavering dedication.

“My clothing brand faces two main hurdles: finance and support, especially from women. After being compared to big brands like Nike, I realized I must focus on my unique identity, not emulate others. My response, though imperfect, was authentic: ‘I’m not trying to be them, I’m just me.'”
