Today we’d like to introduce you to Quintessa Leniger.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Quintessa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, about 10 years ago, my parents were going through a divorce (my mother and step-father) and I needed a hobby, something to keep my mind off the mess so I decided to start baking. My baby brother was playing football for his high school so one day at his practice I asked my mom how did she think I would do if I sold sweet treats there, she said “I’m not sure, you wanna try at the next practice.” I was so excited and looking forward to the following week. The following week I made cookies and brownies, sold the brownies for $2.00 each and the cookies 3 for $1.00, I made a killing! After that I started to expand my menu and make cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies etc.
From there on, I went to brand more and I even start to ship internationally. All of my recipes were passed down from my great grandma which I have a middle name after (cool fact, Lol). I am on social media such as Instagram, Facebook and snapchat under Qtscakes, my website is www.qtscakes.com and I am also on Eat24.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has definitely been a struggle to get where I am today, from customers that aren’t satisfied to customer that overly ecstatic about a product we provide. We are a growing bakery and we are beyond excited and thankful for every struggle we have encountered because it has only made us better in the long run, we are grateful for every customer and review that we get and we are not perfect but who is?
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the QT’s Cakes story. Tell us more about the business.
Our business is a mobile bakery that specializes in cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, cheesecakes, etc. We are especially known for our Sweet Jars which come in every flavor that we offer on our menu. We are most proud of the progress we have made in this industry. We are always willing to satisfy your sweet tooth. What sets us apart from other bakeries are our down south recipes and the fact that they have been passed down from generation to generation.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We have had both good and bad luck but mostly good (which we are grateful for) but mostly it is talent, the good luck or bad luck comes with whether or not you get a good review or not, depending on how you performed the day of an order or event.
Pricing:
- Sweet Jars $10 each
- Cupcakes are $28/dozen
- Cookies $22/dozen
