Check Out Dj Keelez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dj Keelez

Hi Dj, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started with a deep love for music and the joy of bringing people together through it. I’ve always been passionate about how music can elevate any moment, especially at events that mark important milestones in people’s lives. I initially began DJing at small gatherings and clubs, where I honed my ability to read a room and keep the energy alive.

Over time, I focused more on weddings and special events, realizing that curating those experiences was my true calling. It’s not just about playing great music, but about understanding the unique vision each couple or client has for their big day and making sure that comes through in the soundtrack of their event.

I’ve also embraced social media, especially platforms like Instagram and TikTok, to stay on top of trends and keep the energy fresh and engaging. Where I am today is a reflection of years of learning, hard work, and building strong relationships with clients. I’m constantly evolving and looking for new ways to create unforgettable experiences.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Being an LGBTQ+ woman in a male-dominated industry comes with its own set of challenges. I’ve had to work harder to be taken seriously, break through stereotypes, and carve out space for myself. There have been moments where I felt underestimated or overlooked because of my identity, but that only fueled my determination to prove myself.

Despite the obstacles, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I’ve learned to navigate those challenges with resilience, and while it hasn’t always been easy, I’m still here, doing what I love and making my mark in the industry.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a DJ who specializes in creating unforgettable experiences, especially at weddings and special events. My work is all about setting the right vibe and making sure the energy flows seamlessly from start to finish. I’m known for my ability to read a crowd and blend genres to keep everyone on the dance floor, from the older guests to the younger ones.

What I’m most proud of is the personal touch I bring to every event. I don’t just play music—I take the time to understand each couple’s or client’s vision and craft a soundtrack that reflects their personality and the mood they want for their big day. That level of care and attention is something I believe sets me apart.

Being an LGBTQ+ woman in the industry also shapes my approach. I know how important it is for people to feel seen and heard, so I make it a point to create inclusive, welcoming spaces for all my clients and their guests. That commitment to inclusivity and creating genuine connections is something I take lots of pride in.

How do you think about luck?
I believe luck, both good and bad, has played a role in my journey, but I also think it’s how you respond to those moments that really makes the difference. I’ve had my share of challenges—being an LGBTQ+ woman in a male-dominated industry definitely has its hurdles—but I don’t see those as “bad luck.” Instead, I’ve viewed them as opportunities to grow and prove myself.

On the flip side, I’ve had moments of good luck too—whether it was being in the right place at the right time or connecting with the right people. But even in those moments, it was the hard work and preparation I put in beforehand that allowed me to take full advantage of the opportunities when they came.

So, while luck has certainly played a part, I credit my persistence, adaptability, and passion for getting me to where I am today.
