Community Highlights: Meet Lauren Anne Muller of Ms. Nature LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Anne Muller

Hi Lauren Anne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a care and compassion for the env and a love of children. I received my masters in env education. After working in the nonprofit field, I noticed that children these days are too rushed, going from school to practice to event after event. They do not have enough time to absorb the beauty of the world around them which creates anxiety and other health and mental issues. I began Ms. Nature LA to provide children with a fun, solid base of genuinely enjoying nature so they can develop a care and concern for it in the future. As David Sobel states, “If we want children to flourish, to become truly empowered, let us allow them to love the earth before we ask them to save it.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not it hasn’t. Unfortunately, most adults are just too busy to recognize the value of slowing down and appreciating nature for what it is. They don’t take the time to stop and notice the natural beauty for their children. I hope to grab their attention as children these days really need nature to thrive.

As you know, we’re big fans of Ms. Nature LA . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Ms. Nature LA sprouted in 2018 when I visited preschool classes to shine more light on their science classes. I then officially began Ms Nature LA in 2024. My mission is to educate the younger generation about the wonders of nature so they can develop a care and concern for God’s amazing earth. I have a passion for working with children and strive to help them create a sensitivity to the environment at a young age. I have taught environmental education to people ages 3-21 for over 20 years and in my experience, I have seen that once children have this sensitivity, they are more likely to make sustainable choices in the future. I would love to visit your child’s school, troop meeting, birthday party, etc. to share my knowledge and passion. I can customize a science/nature class for teachers/leaders so students can dive further into learning, experiencing nature instead of just reading about it. I bring in animals, insects, artifacts to touch and feel so children can create a stronger memory and develop a care for that piece of nature. Whether it’s a ladybug or a shell, these children can have a experience with it to create lasting change. I teach classes on ocean inhabitants, sand and shells, the five senses, butterflies, sprouts, trees, flowers, etc. I also create and present customized Earth Day and Nature assemblies to entire schools. Contact me today to learn more about how I can enhance your child’s or students love of nature.
